LOL, well, I've never been accused of being "dainty"
Hey, I'm a city girl. Whenever I start screaming my head off because a lizard, wolf spider (did i meantion these are the size of tarantulas?), etc, gets in the house, my hubby teases me and calls me dainty.

Heidi, you could bait hooks like we did yesterday, all artificial bait! Nothing squirmy!

Miss Phode, I love lizards and frogs, but spiders YIKES...I hate a friggin spider! Eeeek~!

                Re: Fishermen/ladies?

Since we moved to the coast 3 years ago I have ambitions to fish. I have cleaned some (yuck) that were given to us by a fisher friend, but I keep seeing people casting their lines into the surf and catching nice fresh fish, so I am going to try it soon. We have nice rivers to fish in too, when it is too rough on the beach. Any tips on rods and other equipment, ladies? I know nothing!

We have seperate rod/reels for salt water fishing and fresh water. You need a longer stronger rod if you are going to surf fish, I'm not very good a surf fishing, you need a really good arm to cast the line out past the point where the waves break, mine always washes up on the beach.

I love pier fishing though, that is very easy! Just go to a sporting goods store and ask them to recommend a rod / reel for whatever type of fishing you want to do, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you!
