Help I need to hire someone to do our accounting

Anyone have any advice on how to hire a reasonable $$$ bookkeeper or accountant? I need all the help I can get here...

my husband works for himself and he has done the taxes for years on his own..however it is an excrutiatingly painful event every single year and now he has outgrown the ability to do this ...and we need help..

I am just not sure where to go....I was advised to try a temp service ...has anyone done that?

this is the last year I will risk us killing each other over tax time ....
