We go through tons of tealights and lamp oil. My fella doesn't like electric lights on in the evenings (we sound like Luddites!) as they bother his eyes, so our apartment is lit with candles come evening time.
At first I thought he was just incredibly romantic but that's just how he is.
I've gotten so used to it that when we go somewhere and they have their living room lamps on, it bothers me now!

Candle light is so soothing.

In the winter (can't in the summer as the sun never sets) I have these beautiful old fashioned candle holders and I light them when the sun goes down and keep them glowing late into the night. I love them and my neighbors have complimented me on how great they look from the street - I'd say on the average I have 10 to 12 candles burning a night in winter. I love them!

I am a candle whore
I love candles and burn them in every room ..not just the bedroom ...
lately I have been buying the soy candles they last forever and burn clean...
I read by candles, bath by candles...and even do this posting by candles..there is something so calming and romantic about the warmth and glow of a candlelight ..I also light them as a spiritual statement ...I burn them to remember people, or to just put a light in your window to welcome good into your home....or when I have emaculatized a room I light a candle to bless it!....yes I love and burn candles all the time ...they are really a great joy in my life ..

my husband worries about me if I do not have one lit when I am home ...he knows something is deeply troubling me if I forget to light a candle when I come in the door...

Wow, I'm really in the minority here, but I have no desire to burn candles. Even when I get them as gifts, I never use them.

My husband likes to burn a scented candle in the livingroom right next to him while he watches TV sometimes. It's not romantic, he's wierd and thinks it covers up the dog smell he swears is on his chair. I can't smell it, but if it makes him and his wierd personality happy, he can go for it. Nothing romantic has happened in this house in so long, I've forgotten what romance is. I don't want him to take a class, I want a new model.

here is a great ..although pricey place to buy candles, soaps and body butter that is to die for

the soy candles last a long time and burn completely clean my sister sent them to me for Christmas and I am addicted to them now ...
much better than any other candle I have purchased..
the soap is wonderful and the body butter...as I sad omg...

Found it!!! Awwww, Richie!!! So you haven't asked her to marry you...but.....has she asked you?? You are so sweet. My dh does romantic-type stuff too. I've told him he should write a book and give classes. This kind of thing comes naturally to some guys and not to others, I think. I'm definitely not as romantic as he is. He adores candles though. He usually burns a vanilla scented one in the evening. He thinks it gets rid of cooking smells. I'll have to check out the soy ones. I've never heard of that. If they come in vanilla I'll buy him some.

i have tonnes of candles! some i burn some i dont - some are just too pretty to burn... i put yes to the poll, tho i dont do it often i do do it sometimes, mainly when ive been cleaning or when i got guests round, LOL
