My cousin died last week (way too young, 50, cancer) and the funeral was yesterday. She had been a crossing guard for the elementary school near her house. Well her crosswalk was the one right at the school so every kid went through her crossing. On the way from the funeral home to the church the procession did a drive by of the school, and every single student and teacher was lined up on the sidewalk with their hands over their hearts. Keep in mind it was in the low 30's and these were all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. They didn't move a muscle they just stood there in silent tribute for the whole procession, which was very long. It was a very touching thing that I had never seen before.

Re: Saw a very touching tribute yesterday
Wow Jim, very touching, I have goosebumps just reading your post. Very sorry to hear about your cousin's death.
I remember at my sister's funeral (she was 19 when she died and I was only 17), her funeral procession went along a main street in my hometown in B.C. and I remember all the buses were blocking the street when they realized a funeral procession was coming down.
Now I have even more goosebumps just remembering it...*sigh*34 yr old Female
