*Ladies Night - Go or Not Go?*
    * **Ladies Night** * Well I was invited to a party for women only by my husbands co-worker. She is really cool and I know about 3 of the other girls going from company bbq's and parties (And they are all like a size 8 grrr...). I'm sure I would have a good time. But this will be the first time out without my husband and/or kids in a very long, were talking years people. And I'm sure I will be asked a million questions afterwards by the husband. But thats ok, I'm used to it. I think it is like one of those sex toy parties or something and then they want to go to the strip club aka ti**y bar. Never been before but it sounds like it could be fun. I'm just not sure if I should go and if I do, what the **** would I drink? or what can I drink while being on Induction???? yes I want a drink, very badly I might add.

Go, life is too short to regret not having a few hours of fun here and there.

Passion parties are fun, I've been to several and helped out with them. They're designed so that all the ladies interact; think sex toys instead of tupperwear, but it's the same idea. Go and have a good time. Make sure to eat ahead of time and to bring your own safe snacks.

No, you cannot drink during induction and I might be lame, but I DO NOT recommend it. There is an alcohol rung for this purpose, and just because some drinks claim to have low/no carbs does not mean there will be no low/no consequences. Induction is a time for strict detox, and it's important that you stick to it. You are only eight days in, it's not time to take a break yet!

This way of eating is also a way of life. Losing weight and changing yourself also means learning to have self confidence that we might not have had before around people who are thinner than ourselves; learning to do so without alcohol is difficult but a vital life lesson. You will be fine, go and have fun!

I think vodka is carb free?? I may be wrong but check on it, yes there is an alcohol rung but how often do you get to do this?? diet coke & something or tonic water & something, there's lots of choices, look them up

I agree... go, and have fun!!!! Rum, vodka, gin.. whatever... life really is to short to just worry about everything all of the time!!! You can still have fun and be low/no carb. If you deprive yourself you will eventually resent this WOE and drop from it, so do it and still be loyal to it. You can... and still have a blast! (I know, I have!!!!)

I don't want you to throw all your hard work down the drain, but you only live once. In DANDR it says your body burns the alcohol for energy first, then back to normal, so it doesn't knock you out of ketosis, per say, it just delays it.

I say go for it. If you really don't wanna drink, be the designated driver

            Have a blast either way!!!

If you use tonic as a mixer, make sure you use diet tonic.

Personally, I would be the designated driver and drink water all night. Especially in the early stages of the diet. Do you have to drink alcohol to have a good time?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Re: *Ladies Night - Go or Not Go?*

I thank everyone for their responses and after thinking about it, I'm going to just stick to my water and yes I thought of eating before I leave but I want to save a some room because I know Jessica is a very healty eater and will have lots of good foods that I can endulge on. She was one of the reasons I came to do this diet. After eating some veggie shish-ka-bobs she made at a party. I thought to myself,"****, I could eat like this everyday and look as good as she does I'm all for it!" hubby is still thinking up different ways to get me not to go without coming right out and saying it. But hey! I just might kick in some extra exercise with dancing, I can't say NO to that.
AND NO Rich, I have never needed alcohol to help me have fun, I rarely drink.
