We took a trip up to Owyhee (that's O-why-hee not Hu-why-ee) yesterday afternoon and it was just amazing how the water was rushing into the Glory Hole. Its been about 2 decades since the water has been up this high, about 40ft higher then normal. Dh read that about the last time it was this high a horse went through the Glory Hole and was ready for the glue factory when it came out into 3 pieces. Sad, but reality of what happens in the long trip down the hole to the other side of the dam.

Well, kind of. There's cement "pillar" in most of the dammed lakes around here called "glory holes", when the water reaches over the level, these holes allow the water to flow through the pipe and out the otherside of the dam to prevent the dam from getting too much pressure and causing dangerous flooding.

You're welcome. Sorry I can't be more...educational about it. lol. It's one of those things I'm still learning about myself. Living out east for 9 years near Lake Erie kind of makes life different when we come out here to Idaho..land of deserts. lol.
