    I am going to attempt to give again on Monday. They are in another nearby town that day.

    Its a bank holiday so I have all day.....

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Rich, I am sorry that happened. But after I stopped and thought about it, I hope this isn't going to discourage you from going back or to a different place. Because if you stop to think, it wasn't that jerk that needed the blood. It's millions of others, who have no idea about what happened to you but they will be thankful.
      It WAS that jerk that is at work having a bad day not even thinking of those people but instead having a bad day and taking it out on however. I would have explained to you how long the wait is going to be and asked if you would like to wait or make an appointment for another time. And to think it could be that jerks fault that someone dies tomorrow because he/she are turning people away. Rich, let me just say from a parent who was in/out of the hospital for 3 years with my son but lost him in the end. I can understand how needed careing people like your self are. I would be thankful if you found some where else to give. I have found a wonderful place that I go to and they all know me and I know them and I feel guilty now if I miss an appointment.

      I hope I said that right....got a little emotional there sorry.

          One nice thing is that (around here at least) you can make an appointment. They usually have blood donor clinics in various locations throughout the area every 56 days (which is the interval between whole blood donations), and you can make an appointment for a convenient time of the day at that location.

          You can even book an appointment at the head office (and they will even pay the taxi fare if necessary)

            I actually managed to give today. And I felt fine afterwards also.

            I am back on the blood doning list and will be giving ever 16 weeks (which is the maximum I am allowed to give).

            But, next time I will be making an appointment.

              GOOD FOR YOU RICH... I'm glad it worked out for you and I knew making an appointment would make a difference.

              I too am going to donate today. Wish me luck LOL.. kidding I always make appointments.
