Yes I know there should have been a male there and I am not knocking females. It's just that the mom should have done her job..

I am assuming that you are referring to the british girl made pregnant at 11? I didnt check the link.

It was on the news this morning, actually its on every news programme I have heard this morning. Apparently her mum is proud of her, because she is keeping the baby.

I have a ten year old going eleven in july. I just cannot imagine my girl smoking, going party, getting drunk, and getting pregnant.

I didn't read the article but unfortunatley there are many girls here in America that get pregnant at 11! A lot of them from the Step Fathers! 12, 13, 14, 15 Lots and lots of young girls!

That is just so, so very sad. These people are just continuing the cycle of poverty and lack of education. I don't know how this young girl will cope. I always think that I was young when I had my child, I was 28. I am now 35 and still always a little overwhelmed at what it takes to be a mother. I have a stable relationship with my husband, a great support system, financial security and it's still a challenge.

I guess all you can do is say a prayer for them.

I can't imagine being drunk partying at 11 even. But something is wrong with their math if she was 11 when impregnated now 12 and delievering just before her 13th bday.

I want to know why this girl's mom hasn't been prosecuted for child endangerment - between her smoking, drinking and partying and mom not only knowing about it but allowing it?! ARGH!!

It infuriates me that we have to get licenses to get a dog, but anyone can be a parent.

I was pregnant at 17, and not only did I manage, we thrived. I know all too many people who were moms at similar ages that didn't. I won't say that we got lucky - luck had nothing to do with it - but I will say that we've been richly blessed.

At 11 years old this girl doesn't stand a chance. She's already dropped out of school?! How can that be and how can that be legal?!

My 14 year old, 8th grade son goes to school with a girl who has a 2 year old. The first words out of my mouth when he told me? "Steer clear."

I agree, all we can do is say a prayer. How frightening.

They have no concept of where babies come from apparently, 2Big. Why the heck would you think they'd be any good at math problems?

Just when you think you've heard the stupidest thing people can do, along comes something else. Babies are great. But they shouldn't be brought into the world by other babies. And yeah, where were the parents? Where are the authorities? Isn't this a case of some kind of abuse or neglect or something?? It's sad.

The girl in question has been quoted as saying that she knows that she will cope, because she has helped with her younger brothers and sisters. Its a shame that she is going to miss out on her childhood herself.

I think the biggest issue here is ignorance! I know the parents did not do right by this young girl, but prosecuting her, well, I don't know what that will do now. The thing that we as a society need to do is equip parents to educate their children, nurture them and make sure that they are in contact and working together with teachers, clergy, other parents and activities directors. Only when people work together and have the best interests of these kids in mind will things start to change. I believe it really does take a village to raise children...we as parents are certainly not alone in molding minds.
