    OMG. Anyone have the link to the articel. I tried clicking the original one posted by Dash but it is no longer available. This is something...I can't even imagine I have a 9 year old son. How old is the father?

          I'm almost 42 and STILL am not ready for kids (I never will be - I love them, but only if they are someone else's - I love being Auntie Stacy!).

          When I was 11, I was too involved in sports and reading and school to be partying and having sex. In fact, I'm not even sure I was interested in boys, outside of a mild crush or two. My mom, crazy as she may be, at least taught me to have some self control and self respect. What are kids doing having sex that young? That's ridiculous! And drinking. And smoking. And drugs. Jebbus Christ in a pogo stick! What's going on with parents these days?!?! Grrrrr . . . the whole thing freaks me out . . . grrrrrrr.

            Not surprizing to me. 12 years ago when I was working in a Children's Hospital, we had a 2 month old baby admitted for some problem and the mother had just celebrated her 12th birthday. As a medical student, my boss assisted in an emergency C-section for a 11 year old girl. The baby was 3 months pre-term, but the membranes ruptured and they were concern the baby would hemorrhage. Anyhow, my boss took the mom's history and it turns out she started bleeding while having sex with her boyfriend (who wasn't the baby's father).

            As Brook said, some of these girls and their children turn out okay. I remember one 16 year old mom when I was working at the hospital. She went to school and by the time I left, she was a Nursing Assistant.
