Windows Defender turned my computer into a slug.

Just a warning if you download it..I downloaded it and every program on my computer took about 4 minutes to load. I immediately thought I had a virus because it could not be the fine Microsoft product .
Anyway I did everthing in the world to the computer and finally went to the eldergeek web site and someone suggested checking the last thing I downloaded. I dumped the program and the puter worked fine. I reinstalled it and it turned into a slug again..

Also wondering if anyone else has had problems with it

i have not downloaded that. thanks for the heads up.
my computer was extemely slow too and i downloaded msn messenger 7.5 and got up to speed. i have cable roadrunner and the the nascar.com site took about 5 minutes to load.

Just give it some more time before downloading. Since yesterday I have gone to the Microsoft site and found out that defender is still in the testing stages, which I swear they don't mention before you download.

jack usually does the downloading. i think it sounds different from what i meant in that post.
before i did the msn 7.5 it was taking nascar.com about 5 minutes to load. after the installation of msn 7.5, it loads and comes up in about 5 seconds? i didn't time it but it's way faster. the board use to be slow too and now i am much faster.

Dash, that's what the "Beta" means, it's testing. I never download that stuff, learned my lesson on that once before too.

I swear that I knew that but I am a male so when I see the words bigger, better, and faster any words that I might have learned in the past just go out the damn door.
