I got my car! And it's beautiful! Here is a picture

I flew to Sydney on the early flight (0605!) and went by train (and bus due to City Rail's omnipresent weekend track work!) then taxi to the car yard. I had researched this car on the Internet and spoken to the fdealer several times. he got a roadworthiness certificate (required in our state to register a car) and sent me a scan, and the clincher was a $79 cheap flight available. When Warwick heard the dealer was Paulico Motors at Blacktown (a pretty rough area) he said it was like the Sopranos and I'd be ripped off! Howvere, the car is everyting the dealer claimed and I am delighted with it.
it has some optional extras including leather seats, adjustable lumbar support and drivers seating position, CD player; electronic locking and security; fog lights; plus lovely touched like illuminated mirrors under the sun visors.
It has had one owner since new, and the contract of sale and itemised original purchase receipt was one of the papers I got with it. It had a genuine 80,700 kms (a bit more now since it was 860 kms to get home!), and the dealer put 2 new tyres on the back and gave it a full 90,000 km service. Drives like a dream and the suspension is really comfortable. It is a bit bigger than my other car so I'm still adjusting a bit.
And it only cost $6,000 - comparable cars on the net, all with more miles, were from $8,000 to $11,000.
Most of my freinds are saying 'I can't beleive you bought a CAR over the Internet'. Well, all I can say is that if you do you homework and are careful you can do well over the net.
I have now bought:
a desktop and laptop Mac computerat $472 and $425 respectively;
a digital SLR camera, new, for $1209 plus freight (cost here $1,899);
extra lenses for the camera;
lots of computer spoftware and peripherals like CD drives;
many DVDs and CDs;
lots of other bits and poieces like my digital scales, blood pressure monitor, pedometer etc.
It's a great way to shop.
Now, to the weight. Have not lost any this week, but TOM is still looming so I can expect, hopefully, a loss there. And yesterday was BACK TO THE GYM day now I have a car to get there.
