Anybody know how much money those kind of ads generate for our website? maybe we could just buy the space so they couldn't run.

As I stated in the other thread 2big. There have to be other advertisers out there that are not so opposite of the goal of this board? If people were coming on here saying "Hey, try this I lost so much weight taking whatever" they would very quickly told they do not belong here, and not so nicely!

I agree with you Barb, When we do Atkins by the Book we don't take Diet pills having ads like this goes against the Book Plus gives people who caome here mixed messages which is not right. If we want to hold the good Dr.s name up we don't want crap like that on the sight it gives the Wrong type of message and is Agains Robert Atkins teachings!!!

Heidi often takes little vacations from here. She's done it several times over the years for one reason or another. She'll most likely be back.

I might notice an ad here or there, have a chuckle and then move on. No big deal.

I am going to go back to as Pia calls it my "little vacation" the fact is I have been working double shifts and nights lately ..and yes I have been pisssed off about these adds....like I said in Rich's thread getting rid of them is like pisssing on a fire it is not going to happen once you let in the door ..

I am looking at them now ...perhaps I should just chuckle?

after all ..what is the big deal in advertising quick weight loss products on the ADBB anyway? it is a "FREE COUNTRY"

we can all do what MOGS says and just keep clicking so TOM can make money ..sounds perfectly logical to me?

The diet pill ads are the FIRST thing I noticed when I came to this board. It's a good thing I overlooked them!

And if you continue to see slimming pill adverts or any other advert that contradicts Atkins, please pm me a copy and pasted link to it, and the type of advert it is.

I am getting rid of them one by one.

Heidi, if you right click on the link and "copy shortcut", it allows you to just paste the link.

With that, I would love to also be told what exactly is being advertised.
