Does anyone else think this is ridiculous?

    Does anyone else think this is ridiculous?

    As you may or may not be aware, its the soccer world cup coming up soon.

    At the weekend, it was reported in a newspaper that taxis drivers in a certain part of England are not allowed to wear any thing that denotes that they support England! Including obviously England football shirts or anything else with England written on it.

    The reason for not wearing it? Its because people from foreign countries may think they are being racist!?!?!?!?!?!?

    Does that make sense?

    WHAT?!?!!?!?! That's one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard! Really, aren't we becoming just a little TOO politically correct.

      I have to wonder if they're going to make people coming from other countries wear specific things...you know, just to make sure that those in England aren't offended either.

            It's very possible now that you mention it that the "foreigners" mentioned are in fact the easily offended Americans! I say hey, if you don't like the cabbie with the England jersey on, then WALK! Just be sure and do it on the LEFT side of the street

                            It is getting crazy alright.
                            It's the peculiarity of Englishness though isn't it?
                            Scottish and Welsh tops are fine and aren't taken as offensive, yet England tops are.
