I wonder, is there any way to have 'new threads' ignore an entire forum? For example, i don't want Journals to show up in my 'new threads/latest threads' list because there are so many and they get updated so often that I would prefer not to have them listed, and only read them at my own pace.
You can add someone to your buddy list by clicking on their userid and selecting the "add xxx to buddy list" option. To see a list of online buddies, go to the portal page and there is a list at the top, left hand side.
I understand how to add somebody to my buddy list, but what is the function of the buddy list? Does it actually do anything besides sit there?

MOG, if you look on the front page, Portal, i think it's called, if someone is on your buddy list, they show up on that page, in a box on the left side of the screen. You can send PM's directly from there to your Bud.
Your my buddy MOG. I don't like using the Ignore list. First you can't ignore the Admin folks, LOL, I tried that once.(Well, I had to try) But I suppose if someones posts are like fingernails on a blackboard to you, you should ignore them. I have found skipping them is easier.
I love the buddy list cause its easier to send a PM to them when they are on and its really friendly. I don't know about the folders.

LOL, I'll keep that in mind about the Admin!
Yes, sometimes posts can be like fingernails on a blackboard -- or just be the kinds of things that get under your skin and ruin your day, like when you come into work in a good mood and your co-worker whines and complains and won't quit and before you know it their mood has worn off on you! I wish there was an "ignore" option for co-workers
I think the ignore option would be better though if you couldn't even tell the poster had made a post, see otherwise, its like passing a car wreck, even though you really don't want to see the carnage you gotta look! So, you have someone on ignore and you see they made a post, you just "un-ignore" them and read it anyway, then of course you wish you hadn't.
Yea, I like that buddy list, pretty cool now that I know what it does!

oh and one bad thing about the ignore feature is if yoiu use it and they know it they can flaunt it like posting "maybe MOG will share her great recipe for firecrackers with you when she sees this" knowing you will never see this.
