So yeah, saw the remake of "The Omen" tonight.
Don't waste your money. Go watch the original again.
Very poorly directed and I found that the main thing that the remake was missing, which the original had in droves, was atmosphere.
    There was none.
Whereas the original was so full of dread and that scary heavy latin music.
I was gonna buy the soundtrack to the original, but reading the song list, I saw that all the latin scary "hymns" were called things like "Ave Satani",
    so I was too scared.
No need to tempt any fate....

You wanna go see a great entertaning movie, that'll leave you wanting to weatch it again?
    Go see X-Men 3.

Oh man, the original Omen scared the pa'jesus outta me! That and The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby and even Audrey Rose!

What the heck were my parents thinking taking me to see those movies?

I saw Prairie Home Companion, and I was dissapointed. Am I the only one nerdy enough to know about that radio show? haha

I've seen the previews for RV---it struck me as a remake or redo of those Chevy Chase "Vacation" movies....

              Re: Movies

My sis saw RV and thought it was hilarious. Definately not oscar material as Sadie said, but apparently it was quite entertaining in a silly/simple humor type of way. She doesn't think much of the Vacation movies so this one must have been done better.

I took the DDs to see Over the Hedge which was a cute little movie for kids. I'm not sure it was worth the 4 ticket price and would have preferred to rent it, but it was bearable as far as children's movies go.

Really want to see X-men which would probably be great in a theatre.

                Re: Movies

Miss Phode - I used to listen to Prairie Home Companion all the time growing up (I'm a Minnesota girl, dontcha know!)! One of my favorite Garrison bits was about rhubarb and it got its name.

I rarely see movies in the theater anymore - too dang expensive and I'm too easily tempted by popcorn! So, I rent everything through NetFlix. Right now, I'm deep in the middle of Six Feet Under (the middle of Season 4 I think) and I'm loving it! I'm really looking forward to seeing Syriana and Good Night, Good Luck - both on my list.

I saw the original Omen, Rosemarys Baby and other scary movies - the strange thing is I remember watching them all alone as a little kid.
I remember this one movie - I think it was called the sentinal and it had ghosts and creepy stuff and this lady had to sit in front of the window and keep watch - on what? I haven't a clue, I was so young. Does anyone else recall this movie??

Ooh. Not only have I seen 'The Sentinel' (featuring a young Christopher Walken), I read the book. Don't know why, but I'm a sucker for 70's-Catholic-mysticism-horror movies.
P.S. She (the creepy old lady) was making sure that the demons stayed on their side to the gate to **** which was in a lovely brown stone in Brooklyn Heights right on the Promenade (which if you're from Brooklyn might mean something.)

I just came back from watching "Superman Returns".

I suggest watching "Superman II" if you can just before seeing the movie.
