Re: what does it cost to dress for work?

I don't buy clothes specifically for work! I wear alot of hand me downs. Why waste money on work clothes? Who am I trying to impress around here?

MOG! I love you! Exactly . . . who the heck am I trying to impress at this place? No one!!

Heidi - do your waterfall thing. You never need to justify doing something that sounds that wonderful and that you will be able to enjoy for years!

Re clothes, I'm a super bargain hunter and am so not a clothes horse. So, less than $500 a year for me.

Heidi, go for the waterfall! I'm going to drop a lot of money to build a big deck on the back of my house with a pergola and a walkway to the pool and another deck on one end of the pool. It's going to cost what I consider a TON. But, I want it...I'll use it...my DH will use it. I'm tired of having parties and everyone outside in the dirt. I want a pergola too. You go do your waterfall, and I'm going to do my deck and then we'll compare pics, okay??? I wish I could do a waterfall, but I'm going to do a koi pond instead. That will cost alot less than the deck...but I'm going to do that too. I've wanted this deck the entire time my house was being built...and here it is 2 years later and I'm still wanting it.

          LET'S GO FOR IT!

Ah, I see, thank you. What will you do with that? Grow vines on it? Very pretty.

wisteria would look beautiful on your pergola Valid!!!! whooo hooo that will be nice
well I just returned from a trip to Canada where I had my husband so vulnerable to suggestion ...that he agreed with out question that the hill on the side of the garden warranted a native garden along with a waterfall ...he did say the clawfoot tub in the garden was a little too over the top and we compromised on a hot tub on the lower deck instead ..it will be as natural looking as we can make it ...

we just need to check out the laws about diverting a spring and building a water feature like this ..it is going to be a big project to get stones in here and up the hill!!!

I am going to call the landscape planner ...strike while the iron is hot and the weather is nice ....I know and see what he will charge to draw to come and do the plans ..then once I have that I will go from there

thanks so much you guys for validating me

this coming week however I am starting another 2 bathrooms both at the same time......give me strength ..both of these are from the dirt up ...literally ...we are putting in a 70 sf bathroom with a walk in shower and at the same time a half bath in my husbands "clean" shop....2 for the price of one I am hoping

Heidi, are you asking how much a week, month or year I spend on work clothing?

I'm a really big bargain shopper too... kinda famous for it actually. Those sales seem to fall in my lap and my friends just shake their heads sometimes wondering how I do it. LOL ! But I have a feeling when I get to goal I may not be so careful about it, at least once in a while. I'm going to have that slinky black dress no matter what I have to pay for it!

Heidi... go for the waterfall... you deserve it!

Re: what does it cost to dress for work?

Rich I was asking for a year to see what the total I saved (kind of average cost) by wearing work scrubs....I figured I could use that to bargain with my husband and my own brain... when hiring someone to come and design my water feature

I figured I saved quite a bit considering the cost of clothing as I see it!!! good grief it is expensive to dress nicely! unless you are like the folks here who know how to shop for a bargain!....

oh well it is kind of moot considering it is settled and I am going to get my waterfall ...just a matter of time and coming up with the money is all

In that case, then its probably the 2nd option (equivalent in our currency), I am a man. As long as I have 4 or 5 pairs of trousers and a number of shirts, thats all I really need.
