        Re: 4th of July

We're heading to Alaska. We're going to Anchorage and then down to Seward to hopefully see some whales and then to Homer for 3 or 4 days. Should be fun. I guess Seward is a good place to be on the 4th.

Hey Commando, great place Anchorage is, Homer and Seward are a close 2nd. I think Home is where Ray Genet was from, met him in 78. He used to fly a bi-plane out of there. He climed Everest more than any other human at the time.

My godparents live in Anchorage, off of Northern Lights Blvd. You will enjoy it. If at all take a drive N. about 400 miles to Denali State Park under McKinley. Great place too.

Canada day is on the 3rd, MOG?!?!? Harumph! lol

We don't all go ballistic up here like you crazy americans do, (!!!) but we do have some impressive parades, entertainment going on and awesome fireworks displays at exhibition grounds and whatnot. Being that it falls on the weekend this year I'm sure things will be a little more rowdy than usual. I live fairly close to the Sumas, Washington border crossing so if we happen to be near there at night we can take in another fireworks show on the fourth too. Or was it the sixth? never remember. As you know, we are moving. This year for the 4th, we are going to our new town to celebrate with them. It will be exciting to see the people who will become our friends and neighbors. We don't know anyone there, so I am very excited. They have a hrose parade, concession stands, children's games and races and fireworks.

We usually go to the city center here where we live now. They have live bands and lots of stands with necklaces, clothing and food. We've done this one for the past three years and it is the same ol' thing every time, so will be nice to have a change.
                  Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

                    Re: 4th of July

For Canada Day I will be going to the cottage up North, the little town where our cottage is puts on a pretty good celebration, car shows, river raft races etc. Then a nearby town where friends of ours live, has the fireworks, we go out on their lake in the pontoon boat and watch from there.

After than i'm on a weeks vacation so i'll probably start drinking on the dock July 1st and stop 7 days later LOL

I'm really a sappy person at heart. Usually on the 4th I get sentimental, especially when I'm outdoors smelling all the sulphur in the smoke and seeing the haze from it on my street and the loud clap of the bombs we make. For one instant, I close my eyes and think of the hero's of all countries whether national or gorilla that have fought the good fight.

Oh, sappy Patty is finished for the day.

Oh Oh! A mystery! Hey I know, are you getting MARRIED?

Everyone's plans sound like so much fun! I guess I'll have to think of something special for the grill for John and my little celebration! Its going to be hot and in the 90's here! so fishing is probably out, can't catch anything when its that hot, all the fish are smart, they go down to the bottom of the pond/lake where its cool and they take a long nap!

Whew, and yes, it would be a little crazy! IMO anyway!

I wish I had Monday off they are very stingy with holidays around here. Problem is, if the stock market is open we have to be here, even though it will probably be dead quiet. Oh well, such is life.
