Lisa M.- We just bought a boat, but we are chickens. We have only had it 2 weeks and we are afraid we aren't that great with it yet.
Very nervous!! HAHA. So the car ferry is for us this year. 
Oh well it will be fun anyway

I grew up a few miles from the "car ferry" and used to swim at Pebble Beach right near there. If you were taking your own boat, you can moor at South Bass itself on the north side of the island.(they have a water taxi that will come pick you up).
Ih opeyou have an AWESOME time in my old stomping grounds. Enjoy the fireworks. Hopefully next year you can takeyour boat and catch ALL the displays the same night from teh water. Its the ideal way to view them in my opinion!Female, 30

there is no better way to see the fireworks. Dependingon when they do them, you can catch, Port Clintons, Catawbas, Sanduskys, Cedar Points, South Bass (put-in-bay) in fewspots on the water.Female, 30 , 5'9
