Re: Panama City Beach Florida
My parents live about 15 miles west of there. Zoo World is fun. Bayou Bill's has really good seafood, although I wasn't Atkinsing the last time I visited them, so I had everything fried and can't really vouch for how good the not-fried stuff is. If you feel like driving the 35 or so miles on Hwy 98 to Destin, there's also a lot of stuff to do there -- McGuire's Irish Pub is fun, and has really good steaks, there's a big outlet mall, and there is also a go-kart/mini golf/etc place in the middle of Destin.PC Beach is undergoing a lot of construction at the moment -- or they were last summer, I haven't been down there since Sept.'05.

Re: Panama City Beach Florida
That's where we stayed last year, well Fort Walton Beach. My Daughter eat at the Irish Pub with her softball team. That area is really nice, i'm hoping PCB is at least as nice & i'll be happy. We also hit the outlets while there. I this we might try Bayou Bill's, also was thinking about Shuckems.Originally posted by auntiesocialMy parents live about 15 miles west of there. Re: Panama City Beach Florida
I lived in South Port for 2 years (aka: Panama City, northeast of PCB) back in the early 90's (met and married my husband there). Things sure changed in Panama City Beach after we went back to visit in 2000...more people and lots of buildings!
My SIL and family just came back from a long weekend at PCB and said it was really nice. I wish I could remember where they stayed and ate...they still have family there.
If you have a car and want to get away from the beach, head out of the main area over the bay bridge to see some of the area's findings like antique stores and where the natives shop for fresh fish and seafood.
But don't forget to stay up late in the evening to watch the stars at night over the emerald green waters and white sandy beaches. It's just so romantic.
Oh, and one more thing...if you're up on the legumes rung of OWL, hit the boiled peanut stands
Best wishes on planning your trip and don't forget the pictures to share with us when you get back
