OMG this pissed me off today!!!!

OK so we need to have a thread like this because I need to vent about my peach

I stopped and bought it on the way in to work and in four hours in my car ... it got all moldy disgusting......I was so ready for that peach at lunch ...omg the first one of the year!!! ..was going to just sit and let the juice run down my arms savor it and my time alone ...my quiet time away people ....

well that went to shiiit fast when I saw my peach

I realise there is a war and people are starving and there are sooooo many worse things than this in life (trust me they eat at me constantly)....and I feel bad being this self centered but I was really ready to eat it and nothing else would do ..you know???

Well that just makes me think of how much BS the book and now movie James and the Giant Peach is. I mean did he really travel that far on a giant peach when they wont even last 4 hours in a car? Total B.S. I am so moving on to plums.

I feel your pain though, and being an addict I hate looking forward to something only to find that it is rotten and no longer available....like..drugs for instance.

Heidi. I understand what its like to be let down. And hey girl - you are not being selfish. Not in the least. If you don't do things in life that bring you joy and happiness - the simple pleasure of eating a peach - who will.

Tommy I've never seen James and the Giant Peach nor have I read the book - it looked to scary when it came out for my son. Is it any good? for you too! Don't want you to feel left out

thank you.....I think the realty is that there are more peaches and I just needed to have a fit about something because if I have a fit about all the rest of the unfair shitt in life I will just flat out stroke out!!!!

I actually have a very hard job somedays and no self destructive habits that give me temporary pleasure...at least not currently ....

so I took it out on the peach ...

At the farmers market yesterday morning.... the peaches were out in full force. Calhoun county peaches none the less. (ie, best in the area). There were folks of all ages walking around with peach juice dripping down there arms as they ate their peaches. And I.... cant have any yet. ~sniff~ My raspberries are at their last week so I wont be able to find those unless I buy them from the grocery and not local. But the blackberries are comign so its alright, for now.

thank you guys ..yesterday sucked!!!!

I am going to stop on the way to work again this morning ...get a peach and bring it in to the clinic ...not leave it in my car!!!!

I am also going to try very hard to leave my attitude in the car as well...

you just never know when you do what I do what the day will hold usually I am prepared and actually thrive on that!!!

things are going to be just peachy from now on!!!!

Tired it was hard for me the first summer I did this and not being on the fruit rung ...but honestly when I felt deprived I evaluated the need to move up the ladder and usually did

Heidi, I know what you mean about the peach. I purchased a lb of nice, solid nectarines for the 4th of July. I put them on a nice crystal plate for my guests. About 4pm, I decided I wanted a nectarine, and there was a small cloud of gnats flying over them (IN MY HOUSE - DAMN GNATS) and 3 of the nectarines were seeping. So I tossed them outdoors for tortoise fodder. They had gone sappy in hours in the house.. and then I had the gnats to deal with.

I dont feel deprived Heidi. But I seriously wanted to knock down one lil girl and take her peach LOL. THe smell in the air was just heavenly. Its all good when Im eating my bowl of raspberries!! YUM
