  • Guinea Pig anyone????

I recently bought Okabashi sandals because they were on sale(!) The sandals are reflexology sandals and supposed improve your general health by stimulating points on your feet. Anyhow....I was reading up on reflexology and acuppressure and came across this site:

    http://holisticonline.com/Remedies/w...ht-control.htm

That gives a do-it-yourself acuppressure program for weight control.

I'm going to try it out to see if it works for me. Anyone want to join me?

Adding alittle bit of an explanation....I'm trying it out to see if it works in conjunction with my Atkins. I guess the better guinea pigs would be people who aren't on any type of weight loss regimen.

I have never done the ear thing but I have learned my pressure points on my own feet to cure headaches and upset stomachs. They really do work! Its absolutley amazing!

Presssure points on feet----that's what lead me to read on reflexology and pressure points. I bought the Okabashi sandals because they were on sale but also because I needed a new pair. Don't get me wrong, they are comfortable, but after wearing them for one day----yeooooouch! There were points on my soles that were really tender!

When I looked at a reflexology chart online I saw that my tender points were stomach points. That kind of worried me, since I have no stomach problems I'm aware of.

Anyhow, the more I wear them the less my tender points hurt. So, I'm not going to give the sandals anytime soon....plus it's really hot and humid here...going barefoot isn't an option at work.

I have never found a pair of those okabashi sandals to be comfortable. They don't hit the right spots on my feet I don't think. I bought 2 different styles and never really cared for either one of them. I am flat footed though so that may be part of it.

Really? I guess it all depends what your feet like. For example, I can't wear anything with a heel over 2 1/2 inches because my feet die. But I know women who have no problem at all with that or higher heels.

Those look prety cool. I don't know if i could tolerate the nubs on my feet, I never liked the slides with the "massaging nubs" on them. I do wear birkenstocks however, and the molded footbed has made my feet less sore. They were very uncomfortable at first, but i've had them a few years now and I get them resoled and I love them. The okabashis look really cool.

I don't wear heels at all. Since I broke my ankle and have all those pins and plates in it, it is very painful to try and put weight on the front of my feet like that!

I have very long narrow feet, I think maybe the okabashi's are made for wider feet or something cause the pressure points don't hit in good spots for me. I always wanted them to be comfortable though

Okay so I tried the acuppressure...not sure if it helps with appetite control or whatever yet, but some of those points are awfully tender!!!!!!

Maybe its like hitting your thumb with a hammer to make you forget you have a headache? If you're concentrating on your poor ears being sore, you won't be thinking about food?

I wish it was the point on my ears! It's the ones on the leg. I keep looking for a bruise to appear but nothing so far, lol.
