That's so funny you said that!

I was in Budapest for a bit and I have a rather distinct "New Yawk" accent. I fielded at least a dozen questions about the similarities between being American and Canadian. I was surprised how many people make no distinction between the two. Oh and forget about howm any times I was complimented for my "uncommon" politeness.

Hi Binsk! Well... actually, I think it's very hard to know what or who to belive. Certainly here in Italy the press print whatever they please regardless of how near the truth it is. Would be so cool to really 'know' what goes on behind the scenes. Of the two biographies I read (ages and ages ago), both were very believeable while reading them, yet took totally opposite postions.

Maybe we should polish our crystal balls!

Thanks for your kind words about my Atkins success. I see that you too have shrunk considerably! That's terrific! Here's to your reaching goal smoothly, speedily and without probs.

I believe absolut vodka is from Sweden? I'm not sure there even is a brittish vodka? It's quite sad that i know this off the top of my head LOL.

The one english drink that stands out in my mind is Strongbow cider. It's not bad, but can cause a nasty hangover!

Vodka is generally from Russia, absolute vodka is i believe from Sweden - there is no vodka from the UK.

Our tradional drink of course is Real Ale.

I haven't heard this question posed here.....does the Queen have a last name? I know the answer, but no one has mentioned it....only calling her Queen!

Us Aussies have another name for the Brits, we call them POMs.

As you may know many of us Aussies are descended from the criminal element of Britian sent to our shores many years ago and not so many years ago. Gosh, we must even still like the Queen as we voted to keep the Queen instead of becoming a republic.

I thought you were genuinly asking me the question. No matter, I will go back and edit my post.

Just to see if anyone else knows.
