the other day while out doing the weekly grocery shopping I was so bored. food doesnt hold the appeal it once did and I'm so glad.
I was in the last shop and my favorite cashier checked me out, he's a young guy - good looking and ever so nice to me. In norway we have to pack our own bags so I did and we chatted.
I was just closing my trunk when the cashier comes running out behind me to take my cart for me - (they don't do that either). We started talking and the convo came around to driving and I mentioned I've been driving since I'm 17 and that the first time I rode a bus or took a taxi was in norway. He said you must have alot of experience and I laughted and said I've probably been driving longer then you are old. And he said no thats not possible. So I asked how old he was. 24. I added it up and yeppers I've been driving 25 years. He gave me a funny little look and I said I'm 42. Well his mouth dropped and he looked shocked. I laughted and said ok how old did you think I was and he says 36. I said wow I'll take that, what a compliment. Then in his inocence he adds thats not a compliment, its the truth.
Well I told him he made my day. And it did.
Thanks for letting me bend your ears.

Hey lady hawke! That must have been nice to hear that from a young dude like that!

I've been told that I look younger too, in my late 20's. I'm in my early 30's.

I don't know if I will look older or younger once I get this weight off though, i guess time will tell!

      I'm wondering that too.

Will I still look younger when the weight is finally off - and from what I've seen of the ADBB members who've lost weight, they tend to peel away the years too!
So I'd say there's a good chance you and I will be carded in the future!

Way to go Tamariah! Makes you feel good I'm sure. People have always thought I look younger than I am, which, I find in the professional setting to sometimes be a problem. I meet with a client and they think I'm right out of college, when in reality I'm 28. I don't mind looking young.

Yup I look younger now too. I'm 31 and get carded *all* the time. The ones who don't ask look long and hard and get this funny look on their faces while they try to judge whether or not to ask.

I thought once you lost the fat in your face that the wrinkles would be more pronounced, but it seems everyone loses years. Maybe its because your skin looks more radiant and youthful with all the water and healthy food? Or because you start taking better care of yourself, smile more often and get a 'tude?

Yes. While we were travelling across the country, when we stopped at a restaurant many people thought we were two couples, rather than parents with offspring.

I was told more than once that I didn't look old enough to have them as my own biological children

                Well Tamariah

I think you might just have yourself an admirer there a goodlooking toyboy tending to your shopping needs Hmmmm!
It really boosts your confidence to get compliments like that at our age dos'nt it..

I was asked some months ago by my co-workers if i was having a 40th birthday party when i reach the big 4.0.
When i told them i was soon to hit 45 they thought i was kidding and i had to show them my drivers licence to prove it .

                Anyway back to Tamariahs toyboy
I think if that was me at the supermarket...i would definetly be checking out my hair in the rear veiw mirror before i go in that store again

                      what a great compliment!!!

Im nearly 30 (next month) and have a fair bit of grey in my hair that I dont cover up. But.... people still have no idea of my age, they always assume younger. Last year I was talked into applying for a creditcard at a retailer because I was buying a large chunk of stuff. So I figure fine Ill get the discount from applying and its no biggie. Well the woman doing the approval about spit when I was approved and had a rather substantial limit. I knew she had no idea of my age because she examined my license to get my birthdate after the approval and said "my god i thought you were 19!". ~laughs~ not bad having a woman judge you 9 years younger!
