  • Do you like your name?

When I was growing up, I hated my name. Meg. Specifically Meg Andrea.

But as I grew older, I saw what other kids were named and felt very fortunate!

I've always liked it, but always wished it had an "h" in it. Everyone has always spelled it wrong. And I can never find any of the cute little stuff like ornaments and things with my name on it because of the spelling!

When I was growing up, I waited and waited for Miss Maryann from Romper Room to gaze into her "magic mirror" and call my name. She never did.

I hated it growing up. Now, it's okay - as long as it's pronounced correctly. Some people rhyme it with "john".

It should instead be rhymed it with "fawn".

I think every 3rd girl was born with the name Lisa during the 1970's. I can't remember there ever being a time I was the only Lisa in class...

I always wanted to have some kind of real flowing, princess name like Ariel, or Bell, or Cinderella....instead I got the highlight of my mom's fantsy world of watching her favorite soap opera while doing hair: Lisa from "As the World Turns"...

I always liked mine but when I was a kid I hated when people would call me Sam. Now I could care less.

I like it OK now, but I didn't like it growing up because I have 2 cousins with the same name (my family is real imaginitive ) and kids in school always called me Mother Teresa. I hated that!

When I was younger I didn't like my name. No one else was named Meredith. Now I love it. It'll sound cool when I'm old and I now feel bad for all the future old amandas and jennifers.

I remember there were at least 2 Jennifers, 2 Lisas, and a bunch of Michelles, Karens, Teresas, and Kathys (or Cathy) and Kellys, when I was in school.

There was one girl who was named "Sundae". She absolutely hated her name and would call herself "Suzy".

For the boys, I just remember a bunch of Mikes, Toms, and Garys.

I've always loved my name. It's an acronym.

                          My Dad's name is J****
                          My Mom's name is O***

The only bad part is all the people who sing "Joy To The World" and all the christmas ornaments I have with my name on them...it makes me look like a narcissist. LOL

I was named for my two aunts: Betty & June ... thus my name is Betty June.

I never liked my name, but I loved my aunts, so I'm honored to carry their names.

I didn't like my name growing up -- felt it was too long. I also never heard of anyone else named Kathleen other than me.

Then in the 11th grade there were THREE Kathleen's in school! Isn't that funny!!

Now that I'm older, I've grown to like it.
