Re: Do you know your European Countries (GAME)

That was fun, thanks Rich! I got a 77... the eastern European countries really got me. Seems like they have changed so much since the last time i was studying! (And that was a long time ago...)

When we were in 7th grade we used to have to do those maps too. We would get a blank map and have to write in all of the countries! I have this weird thing where i have a short-term photographic memory with maps, and maps only. So my friends hated me a bit... too bad i don't have those skills anywhere else!

I spent 1 year in "junior high school" at which point it was changed to a "middle school" (grades 7-. Senior high school lost its senority and became plain "high school" housing grades 9-12.
I've yet to take the test yet.

When my brother (who is three years older than me) went into the 9th grade, it was located in the High School. When I went into the 9th grade, it was located in the school next door, the Junior High School (High School then became Senior High School - this took place the year before I entered 9th grade).

The Senior High School has long since reverted back to being a High School and the Junior High School is now the Middle School.

Europe has changed soooo much since I was in school (I graduated from high school in '72).

I remember in the 6th grade, once a week, our teacher has us draw an outline of a different European country - that was over 40 years ago!!

There used to be O Levels and A Levels, but O levels are now GCSE's (all types of grades of exam).

              Does that make sense?

Re: Do you know your European Countries (GAME)

I did the USA test once, and got just 33 points. I am going to try it again now.

FWIW, I have never been to the USA. The only things I know about your country generally speaking is what I have picked up off of ADBB

How many did you all get in the USA one?

I did fairly well with the Asian one, surprisingly, bearing in mind I have never been there.

I only got 39 on the US one. The only places I really was sure about were California, Florida and New Mexico, the rest were just wild guesses. eeeh I've travelled around the states, so no excuses!!!

O levels were taken by 15 and 16 year olds, but replaced by GCSE's.

A levels are taken by 17 and 18 year olds prior to going to university.

Oh, I get it. The A Levels, then, are the equivalent of our SAT's (Scholastic Acheivement Test). I guess the O Levels are the equivalent of our "standards of learning test". Luckily for me, they didn't start that standards of learning test until after I was out of school---or at least the test didn't count towards graduation.
