Ramsey suspect: 'I loved her'

An American arrested in Thailand, confessing that he was with child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey when she died in her parents' basement nearly a decade ago, said today that her death was an accident. The suspect, John Mark Karr, 41, also told reporters: "I loved JonBenet."

It's such a shame what her parents had to go through, especially after losing a child which would be horrific on it's own..and then to have to live all of those years with that suspicion over them.

It's sad that her mother never lived to see this arrest, though it's good that they were able to tell her an arrest was coming before she died.

i have been watching the today show and some 'experts' are saying this guy could be a 'wannabe', confessing to something for the publicity. they were talking about about the reason for the news conference and how the evidence is going to have to be checked and rechecked. this will be in the news for some time to come, i am sure.

i was sorta taken aback by the lack of emotion with this guy on the reports that i have seen. it looked weird.

This story has always been mysterious and confusing. I only hope that they do recheck it and if he is the one, then he gets what he deserves.

I just heard about it on this morning's radio news on my way to work.

The reporter is saying that this character knew things about the crime scene that only the murderer would know...so it seems they are thinking it is the real deal now.

It was a shocker to hear about it; especially after all this time.

Well, I wouldnt' dance in the streets until they get an actual conviction. I have always had the creeps about this case. And if it turns out that this guy is the one then it only confirms what I have always felt about child "beauty queens".

I think it's sick to take a little girl and dress her up like a little woman, lipstick make-up and the sexy little outfits and parade them around. I don't understand what kind of parent whould do this to a child. Its disgusting IMO. It just draws the attention of sicko, perverted, disgusting, demented people like this guy who is into child porn.

MOG, I could NOT agree more. those pagents are a pedophiles best dream. Its disgusting and I always wonder what kind of parent would do that to their child. Like women arent objectified enough in this society, lets make our little girls look like that! ARGH.

If its him, I hope they put him in general population of a prison. He will get his.

There's going to be a news conference in a few minutes with the Boulder D.A, i'm curious to see what they have to say.

This guy seems to like the press if you ask me..standing posing for the cameras, asnwering questions etc..that does seem odd.

I agree MOG about the pagaents, did you ever watch the documentary on A&E about child beauty pagaents? Not only did I not agree with the way the dress up and parade these kids around..but the mother's were fanatical about their children winning. The pressure was enormous, I felt so sorry for the little girls...they're barely able to have a childhood...

I agree. Why do parents do this to their kids. Not that it guy gave this any right, and I'm not blaming the parents, but...you are just attracting perverts to your children when you do this. So creepy.

I work only 4 miles from the house where it happened. All the radio talk shows are all over it here in Colorado and I seriously have my doubts this is the guy. Too many pieces so far don't add up. If he is found guilty, no punishment our court system could hand down is even close to what he deserves.

I don't know what you guys do down there, but here in Canada they have to keep pedophiles away from the rest of the prisoners. There is a code of ethics among lawbreakers, apparently, and child molesters/killers are lower than scum. The rest of the prison population would give them an appropriate punishment. so we keep them separate so they don't suffer such a fate. Go figure. We are too nice here I think.

This is true here as well. Jeffrey Daumer didn't last 4 months. Many of the prisoners were abused as children and don't tolerate those who abuse kids. Let's hope the judge puts him in with the general population.....

Karr won't be charged in JonBenet's murder

John Mark Karr will not be charged in the death of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, his attorney, Seth Temin, said Monday. His announcement followed a report by CNN affiliate KUSA that sources said a sample of Karr's DNA did not match the evidence found at the murder scene in 1996.
