Although I have never heard of her before this website ( I guess cause she's a porn star or something) The pics of Victoria Silverstedt are very much like a lot of the Hollywood starlet's lip jobs. It looks so gross, why do they do that - I will never understand why someone would want to hack themselves up like that! Its just plain icky.

            Re: Celebrities & Plastic Surgery

It is sad because some of them are beautiful/handsome just like they are, yet so insecure that they feel the need to take drastic measures to alter their basic features.

I've seen a program on Oprah about eyebrow lifts and I must say I have thought about that in a positive way. But, after looking at some of the mistakes made on the stars, I am not as receptive. It would seem that the stars would have the best surgeons and if they make some goofs as seen in some of these pictures, then what would the "normal" people get?

Does anyone know a person in their own personal life/friends that has had any type of plastic surgery done? Was it successful or a flop?

              Re: Celebrities & Plastic Surgery

Lots of friends have had augmentations. My sis had a breast reduction. I knew three girls growing up, who were sisters that all had nose jobs and boob jobs when they turned 18.

My cousin had gastric bypass and lost over 250 pounds. She's had all kinds of lifts and tucks. I think she looks great and I'm happy for her.

                Re: Celebrities & Plastic Surgery

I knew girls in college who had nose jobs and breast reductions (for medical reasons). And I grew up with a girl who was born with a cleft lip and had reconstructive surgery as we were growing up. By the time we were in high school, you wouldn't have known that she had a cleft lip if you didn't grow up with her. She got the surgeries the week after school let out every summer, so each school year her mouth looked more "normal" and the scarring was lessened. Her last surgery was right before our senior year and it was to even out her lip-line. Like I said, if you didn't know her as a child, you wouldn't know she had a cleft lip.

Frankly, surgery scares the you-know-what out of me, so unless I absolutely, positively, must have surgery, I won't do it.

Adding....I knew 2 other people who have had reconstructive surgery. College classmate: she was in a car accident as a young teen: legs broken etc. Anyhow, her surgery was to revise some scars on her legs. The other was boy in junior high who had burns on his back, I don't know how he got them, but he had skin grafts.
