Time for me to be called crazy

When I was little, I must have been 7 years old, I had an experience while I was in South Carolina. I was trying to sleep...then I felt someone sit down on the bed and start to gently stroke my back. I knew that no one had entered my room and that my parents were asleep-I was quite awake. I pretended to still be asleep. I wasn't scared at the time, because the hand was soothing and gentle. When it stopped I waited a few seconds, then turned my head...there was nobody in the room.

ok. the house I grew up in on Long Island - I went back to the island for the first time in 94 and stayed with my neighbors. I wanted to see my old house and on a walk one day there was a lady outside. I walked up and introduced myself and told her I lived here when I was a kid and said my parents had the house built in the early 60s. The first thing she asked me was if someone died in the house - nooooooooo. She said that they have a ghost, she'll put a hammer down and turn around and its gone only to reappear later. Boy I wish that was all that I'd seen when I was a kid.
I used to sleep facing my bedroom door and the hall light would be left on at night and I'd see a black hooded figure walk out my parents room come down the hall and either go down to the basement or into the kitchen.
Then I had a radio that would change stations (I slept with the radio on) and since it started just after my Uncle died - I'd get all bent out of shape and tell him to put it back on my station. And he always did.
Latch key kid here - after school I must have gone to a friends because when I came home it was dusk and noone was home. As I approached the front door the light in the window came on. I stepped back and went into the street where I met my friend and we sat across the street from my house watching the light come on and off.
Then after we sold the house. One of my friends knew the family that bought it - her and the girl who's parent bought the house were the only ones in the house having a coco in the kitchen when they heard a loud thump in the hall - they looked up and it was the doll from the dresser across the bedroom. My friend got up and walked out of the house and never went back.
I did, that day I stopped to talk with the new owners she invited me in - I stepped into the kitchen from the back door and my legs from my feet to my knees turned ice cold. I did look around, but declined the basement.
And this is just the house on Long Island. There is more, but there's no way to put it in words.

Re: Do you believe in Ghosts?

                  OK...have to add to this...

Two years ago this month, my DFIL passed away...a month later, DMIL...six months later, my father passed away. We had 3 deaths all within 6 months. Really hard time for DS.

Saturday was DS first football game of the season. It was raining something fierce. I was sitting in the bleachers waiting for DH to get back. He was with DS before the game actually started. I was thinking how nice it would be if his grandparents were able to see him play in his game. I looked over on the bleacher next to me and there were three dry spots. Everything else had puddles on it. The three spots looked just like someone was sitting there. It was very eerie to see that especially just after thinking about them. They were actually the right size for the three grandparents too, which is even more strange! And yes, the spots remained dry throughout the game DS was playing. When his game was over, the bleachers got wet in those spots.

I also had experiences when I was a teen. I was asleep and a floral smell would wake me up. I'd feel someone sit down on the side of my bed and there would be a really cold almost draft like breeze.

Also, my neice, who was 2 at the time, was playing in a room in my in-laws house, just after they passed away. My brother in law had bought the house. She was laughing and giggling. Her mom and I went in to see what was going on and she said, "Poppy likes the new color of the room". Her mom said, "He's helping Daddy paint. When did he tell you this?" She said, "No, not that poppy, my other poppy. He's here." She pointed and just smiled the way she would when my father in law was with her. Talk about hairs standing up on the back of your neck!

So to answer the question, YES! I certainly believe!

The worst time I ever had with the other side was when I was about 18 years old and didn't know how to protect myself! The most important thing I learned was to bless myself and to ask that nothing come to me or be shown to me unless it was for good and for God!

Re: Do you believe in Ghosts?

When I was about 9/10 my mom was engaged to a man whose first wife had died of cancer after having their two children. There were all kinds of things going on at the time, and the relationship eventually ended because my mom was completely freaked out.

A couple things: Pictures of all 4 kids hung together on the wall - every morning mine and my sister's would be face down on the floor. Some of the woman's belongings had been boxed up and stored under the stairs and every now and then my mom would smell an overpowering rotten perfumy makeup type smell and she would nearly gag. Strong perfumes in the air that only my mom could smell - we were ALWAYS being asked if we had sprayed an entire can of aerosol air freshner! An outdoor light crashed to the cement steps as my mom was locking the door, narrowly missing her. My sister thought she saw someone peeking in the doorway at night like a parent would to check on a sleeping child - it wasn't OUR mom, so it must have been the girl's!!!

                        Firstly

Im loving all your stories guys, some fantastic experiences. Superb

I have really enjoyed the clocktower Pittenweem investigations over here; Although the history is so sad.

Pittenweem Is a beautiful little fishing village in the east of Fife situated a few miles from Anstruther. By the turn of the eighteenth century prosecutions for witch-craft were becoming rare in Scotland but not in Pittenweem. The Clocktower is the area where these poor women were kept tortured and imprisoned. Through greed to take the females lands or silly dreams villagers had these poor souls were put through the unimaginable.

Here is a short trailer from the location and a few photos.

                          I totally believe too.

My MIL is a medium so she's always telling me someone's visiting - its just that I cant see them!! Normally its her sister who always plays little jokes on MIL, by opening closed cabinet doors, putting photo frames down etc, it was a little scary at first but suprising how used you get to it. She has on two occasions rung the police with details regarding murders!!!! I dont know if they ever used the information, but she was adamant the information had come from "beyond the grave"!!

My next door neighbour has a visitor too, one time we were all sitting around in the kitchen having food when the knife block on the counter stared shaking and rocking - that was a bit strange - most of us just started to laugh - but the men looked a bit alarmed!! hehe!!

Keep all the stories coming - I'm loving this thread - its keeping me out of the fridge!!

The history of those places are really interesting, especially the real reactions to your coworkers.

Another question pops in my head, thanks to Sweet Sadie sharing the same thing that I do when I've encountered/encounter something not of this world nor from the Holy Spirit...do you and your coworkers do any type of "ritual" or prayer of sorts before you head into an investigation?

                              YES!

The first time I thought I was crazy. When my son was about 3-5 mos old, my FIL was living with us. One night my son woke me up crying. I heard it over the baby monitors. I got up and when I got to the hall way I saw a white haired man going to Justin's room, so I thought it was FIL. I went to the bathroom and he had quit crying to I went back to bed, thinking FIL was giving me a break. The next morning I asked him about it and he said he never got up during the night and sure didn't hear Justin crying.

About a year later, Justin was to the sippey cup stage and was thirsty, so I fixed him one. He had gone into the other room so I set it on the counter and turned to get something out of the fridge and turned back and it was gone. It reappeared a week later in the living room behind the TV. Keep in mind Justin is just a toddler and not walking very well. There was no way he could have reached the cup on the counter.

About another year later we were redecorating his bedroom. He was watching TV in our room while we worked. He came running out and said there was a man in my bedroom. Ofcourse I took off looking and there was no one there but he kept pointing telling me this is where he was. OOOOh.

My SIL and I were in the kitchen one morning cooking breakfast, moving around each other, and just talking, and all of a sudden, there was the scent of the strongest perfume I have ever smelled. But it was only in one area of the kitchen. It lasted about 5 min. and was gone.

I have several more but I'll stop for now. I've kinda gotten used to the little things.

                                Hi Lisa

I have a team of 7 investigators and 2 of them are mediums, I personally do not pray etc but the mediums do and do so for the whole team. They put what they call a protection over the group, visitors and owners of the Location.

On location I do not allow Ouija boards or similar items (It goes against my protocols). Im very careful of how I wish things to run.

Some of these places I go into have huge activity reputations, In the past I have had a nip on my arm then when I looked there was a small scratch.
