    Re: 9/11

Oh, and BTW, the USA Weekend magazine in our newspaper had a GREAT story with pix about some of the babies born on that day. Now they're 5!! What a great emphasis to put on the whole thing. They are cute and adorable and show that good stuff still happened on that day too.

      Re: 9/11

I just posted some photos I took in NYC 2 weeks ago on my journal. I had saved the photos until today to post.... the ghosts of that horrible day are still there... you can walk across ground zero and feel the air shivering you to the ground... it's just, terrible. How quick our nation is to forget.... so many, have just simply.... forgotten.

        jacksuncle,

first of all, want to say that I agree 9/11 was a horrible day, and I don't mean any disrespect to anyone, but my question to you is....

what was the purpose of going into Iraq??

I suppose we went to Iraq under the assumption there were weapons of mass destruction but when there werent any found and we were already there we decided to unthrone a powerful and evil dictator and fight terrorism on yet another front.

You know what Jacksuncle, the problem in IRaq has been even more magnified a thousand times over than it was when Saddam was in power.

NOw you have a government installed that is pro-Iranian, and believe it or not, there are a few million Iranians now with Iraqi passports (Iranian Revolutionary Guards in fact), and I think you could say IRaq is in a much more messier of a state than it was before.

I see the attack on Iraq as a way that America felt it wanted to lash out at anything or anyone that it saw as a way to get some kind of revenge.

It is a very sad situation in Iraq, did you know that there have been thousands of academics murdered in Iraq? There are death squads going around from house to house doing killings on an "ethnic" basis, there is NO electricity for many hours of the day still, even in this very bad heat of 40 degrees celcius and higher (even up to 50 degrees celcius). A familiy friend of ours lost both her parents this summer, first her mother and her father died of a heat stroke, not being able to cope with 50 degree weather with NO airconditioning.

Is this the revenge that you were referring to?

and just think, the news shows in the states don't see half the s h i t they show on the news here.

Its horrible the conditions that innocent people are forced to live in. I can't believe it when I see it on the news.
                  We need PEACE on earth.

                    Tamariah

Yes we do need peace in the world. More of it , a lot more in fact.

Since living overseas, and I'm sure you can say the same thing Tamariah , I've really realized more and more that families are all the same. All families want peace and security and a happy and healthy way to raise their children and live in peace.

Humans are the same everywhere. No one is better than another.

Yes ...... more peace in the world. That's the ticket! If only we could teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. We could all hold hands and sing Kumbaya!

                      Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya!
                      Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya!
                      Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya!
                      O Lord, kumbaya!

I'm sorry. Please excuse my sarcasm. If only everything was that simple.

I guess we should have left Saddam and his sons in power with their rape and torture rooms. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=39045

Well, if they're anything like me ....... they would like to live in a democracy instead of under a brutal dictatorship. I enjoy my freedoms very much. And I enjoy the fact that we can even have conversations like this and not fear reprisals. http://www.state.gov/g/wi/rls/18877.htm

No the revenge I meant wasnt toward the public being out of electricity and dying from the elements. What I felt was from the multiple planes crashing into various innocent civilian targets and killing thousands of men women and children. I thought that Iraq funded terrorists and helped in their efforts to kill innocent American babies but I really dont know. I hate that innocent people suffer on both sides including Iraq's civilians. Sorry for your friends, I get no pleasure or satisfaction knowing that something happened to family friends

I don't thnk anyone would say Saddam was a good leader, but you know what? At least during Saddam's rule, there were a few "bulldogs", and as my hubby and many others put it, now there are a hundred 'bulldogs' and invisible ones too!

Sorry to spill the beans but it was the USA who supported Saddam way back when, and when he didn't fit their interests, they deemed him a dictator.

With all the democracy in the world, meaning all the protests that have occurred against this "war", many people knew this would happen and get very messy, but GWB did not listen.

Anyways, I know this isn't really the forum to discuss politics.

I'm waiting for 2008 to occur so at least there will be change of leadership in the USA....
