What was the worst year of your life and what was the best?

I'm hoping the best hasn't happened yet and the worst was this past year. I lost 2 friends and almost lost my fiancee in the same car crash that killed his best friend. The recovery for him has been **** and I hope to never have a year like this past one again.

Worst Year - 1999, October 16th to be precise. My dad died suddenly and unexpectedly.

Best Year - 2003, April 18th. I married my best friend.

Worst years: High school years. They sucked. I was very shy and unpopular. I felt like I was invisible.
Best year: 2000 - October - The birth of my daughter.

I hope I haven't had the best year of my life yet, but the best year so far had to be 2004.

Worst year so far. This one. This month to be precise.

the worst year was when 9/11 happened ....the whole year sucked before and after ...


the best year of my life has not happened yet ...I think they have all been wonderful really...but am waiting for the best

Worst 1999, split from g/f and my mom got a brain tumour.
Best, well this year is shaping up to be a good un.
New g/f, business going well, 4 holidays, parents flew over to visit, lovely new apartment...I'm a very lucky boy.

wordt last yr dad died suddenly and I became Mothers full time caregiver and stopped going tothe gym regularly for months

best of the past yrs would be 1984 when the knees still worked riding my bike cross country trips and seeing and meeting many mnay folk and places. yep life was good that yr

Worst year was 2001. This is before Cory and I were married, and he was in Canada. He got tickets to fly over and stay for a few months, but the airport officials thought he was trying to snow them over. So, he called me from the airport and told me they wouldn't let him fly here. The second after hanging up with him, I got called to the boss's office and got laid off. I went home with no Cory and no job. I'd never cried so much.

A week later, Cory's Mom was kind enough to buy me a ticket to visit Canada. Cory and I got engaged.

Best year...probably 2003 when Cory arrived on a fiance visa, and we were married.

JC, why would they not let him travel to the US? is it because of the length of time he was staying? the only time i've ever had an issue is when I was going on a business trip to Dallas when I was 20, when they asked me the reason for my trip, instead of 'business trip' I said 'work' LOL. took me half an hour to convince the guy i was not moving to texas to live and work illegally . Lesson learned.

My worst day, I've had 3, my fathers death feb 4, 1985, my mothers death March 5, 1987 and my best friends death June 27, 1997.

My best day (so far ): the day i got married in 2000.

JC, why would they not let him travel to the US? is it because of the length of time he was staying? the only time i've ever had an issue is when I was going on a business trip to Dallas when I was 20, when they asked me the reason for my trip, instead of 'business trip' I said 'work' LOL. took me half an hour to convince the guy i was not moving to texas to live and work illegally . Lesson learned.

He wanted to stay here for 5 months...and he DID intend on returning . You'd think if he was trying to snow them over, he'd say he was visiting for a week, and then never return . We were having a long distance relationship, and having met online we couldn't be together 'in person' with him being in Canada and me in Virginia. Before getting engaged, we wanted to live together for a little bit. The plan was for him to return to Canada and we'd proceed with the fiance visa.

Anyhow, the airport officials didn't like it, and they said he had no proof of ties to return to Canada. He was unemployed and living with family members. After that, I did the flying to Canada (his Mom helped, she's a wonderful lady!)...but I didn't mind because I LOVE Canada.

The first time I visited Cory in Canada, I got interrogated because they asked were we met...I said "online" and they were suspicious Got in anyway, after I convinced them I was there for a legit reason...sheesh.

1996: The year my Mom died and I got divorced
2000: The year my Dad died

Best:
1981: Year I graduated from High School
2000: I married Matt

I think this year is one of the best years Matt and I have had together and I hope the best is yet to come!

ahhh ok that makes sense now....I don't think our customs is nearly as sticky on that...I have a friend that lives/works in NYC under the table, she does all sorts of creative things to get back over when she comes here to visit,driving over the boarder and flying out of buffalo, mailing her clothes to herself so she doesn't have alot of luggage to raise any eyebrows etc. LOL she's been doing this for 20 yrs!
