  • Anyone good at trigonometry?

I'm pretty good at math. My boyfriend calls me a mathmagician sometimes, lol.

    HOWEVER

I'm taking calculus this semester, after 11 years of no math class. i placed well enough for it, and holy poop am i having a difficult time. I get the concepts since i took itin high school, but my problem actually lies in what i should already know. Trig and logarithims. It's the bane of my existence. Whenever i come across a problem involving evaluating either i'm screwed. I've been reading and rereading how to do trig and logs but I'm not getting it. Anyone out there good at it? I'd pay for help. Seriously.

when you let math flow like language or music...it comes quicker and sticks better..I found the more I tried to "figure it out" the less I could..but the more I let it flow and just looked at the bigger picture of the puzzle the better I did ....Trig is like that ...step back and look at the bigger picture .... That is how I was taught math ....learn it like music or language and you will be fine ...

it is hard to give this advice in writing ...but is real advice if you can figure out how to let your brain grasp it this way

I took trig and calculus....afterwards, I locked that knowledge away in a chest and filled it in the attic of my mind. lol

The thing is i'm good at math. I always felt like you should just let it wash over over and take it in. The problem is that i'm supposed to have certain skills coming into the class and I feel like an amnesiac, lol. i just stare at it thinking I have no idea what i'm looking at.

Sorry I can't help, I'm in the last of the Math for Teacher series I need before I get into concepts, but I just wanted to send you best wishes. Is there a math lab in your college that you can go to for tutoring or list a poster for finding a tutor on a communication board? Best wishes!

That's what I was going to suggest, is there a math skills lab at your college? I was a math major and I used to work in a math lab tutoring for my work study job. But it's been 16 years for me, I could probably figure it out but it might take me a bit.
