Man goes to the doc, with a strawberry growing out of his head.

Doc says "I'll give you some cream to put on it."

I do get it quite a bit, but I have been on the plan for almost 3 years now and stuck rigidly to it. Comments like yours do strive me on more. Thanks.

I am sure you will be at goal soon enough, btw.

              Re: Anyone awake..

Right now I'm sitting here fighting the munchie demon..

I used to drink a 12pack of diet pepsi a day (I switched to diet in an effort to curb my sugar a few years ago)

Now on a bad day I can keep it down to 3.. so I'm having one right now.. and a 2oz of Jarlsberg cheese.

These munchies are the pits!! What do you snack on?

                Re: Anyone awake..

I dont normally snack on anything to be honest, but if I do, I nibble on a few nuts (but I have past that rung of OWL).

Can I be honest with you?

Cut out the diet pepsi completely, if you can make it to 2 weeks without it, you will break your addiction and it will REALLY help your weight loss. It is possible to cut it out completely, I was in the same boat as your when I started. I would drink a good 6-8 cans of diet coke a day. I thought (maybe I was) addicted, but I broke the habit.

You can do the same and you will be pleased you did eventually. Water is good lol.

What is Jarlsberg cheese? (I am in England, so I may know it as something else).

                  Re: Anyone awake..

Cut out my Diet Pepsi.. gosh.. cruelty!!!

I been drinking my 8glasses of water a day and I always looks forward to a nice cold Pop.. but your probably right. I hate it when other people are right

I've been looking at it like my one last thing I like that I could have.. (waaah)

I know for sure I'm addicted. Growing up my mom was completely addicted to Pepsi and would drink it non-stop. We were never given or encouraged to drink water or milk (my parents reserved Milk for coffee only and we were punished for drinking it, weird eh) so all we ever drank was juice (rarely) but mostly pop of the no-name variety. I guess it helped because we filled up on super cheap pop and wouldn't eat much.

So as of tomorrow.. no more for me and I'll see if I die. (drama) Maybe I could go to one of those super posh detox facilities?

                    Re: Anyone awake..

Why give it up tomorrow? Start today!

Btw, about the water. The rules of the diet are that you should drink 64oz a day (approx 8 glasses) then on top of that for every 25lbs you need to lose you should be drinking an extra 8oz.

                      Re: Anyone awake..

Lol when I said tomorrow I meant today.. (it's 2am here)

I know about the extra 8oz per 25 pounds (which means 4 extra for me.. woohoo barf.)

Since I've never been a water drinker I found the first day I could only manage 5 before I started feeling nasaus(sp>) and then next day I did 8. The day after, I did 8 again. So today/tomorrow (lol) I will try for atleast 10.

                      It's a work in progress.

I wonder how the diet is easier/harder depending on the country you live in.. I would imagine it is harder for Americans than for me (Canadian) because for every chocolate bar WE have.. they have TEN. (for sale on the shelf I mean)

                        Re: Anyone awake..

Sorry lol, I knew you were in Canada, but for some strange reason I thought it was a little bit later (time I mean). Never mind.

There are lots of ways to drink your water. Some people (like me) prefer it ice cold, its so much easier to drink that way.

Some people like it at room temperature, and some people even like it hot!

Find what ever suits you best and go for it. Honestly though, in a week or two of drinking just water you will become used to it. I am addicted to water myself now, and if I don't get any, I really miss it.

                          Miss water? Blasphemer!! LOL.

I drink it ice cold and kinda chug is back as quickly as I can.
For some reason I'm finding I wake up in the morning DYING of thirst and my mouth/tongue completely dry. Though, I have a cold/cough so could be related.

My motherinlaw is disabled and I'm her caregiver. We talk alot and she and I were joking that I'll become so obsessed with what I eat on this diet that I'll become anorexic (never happen). We have such a crazy humour. She is 5'8, wheelchair bound, smokes 3 packs a day, barely moves a muscle, eats like a horse whose never been fed, and weighs 100 pounds.
I don't smoke, don't drink, *try* to watch what I eat (before Atkins), do all the shopping, cleaning, cooking, wash, bathe/dress my MIL., etc. And just watching HER eat makes me gain weight. Lift just aint fair.

My mum feared that I was going to turn anorexic when I started out on Atkins too, because I was losing weight at such an alarming rate.

I guess a "mum thing". Worrying about their little babies ;-)

btw, waking up dying of thirst is a really good sign for you. It shows that the diet is working.

I was talking with my hubby today that when I reach goal he has to take me to Mexico for a vacation. Later I was thinking about it and wondering.. what will I eat???

Did you have a reward for yourself when you reached goal?
