Can someone help me with treadmill problem?

Hello, I have been faithfully walking on my treadmill for the last 2 weeks. Yesterday my treadmill started to skip but not before I walked 3/4 of a mile. The treadmill is skipping and makes an awful noise. It is a healthrider and I bought it 2 years ago from Costco, but only used it but a few months back in 04 , and now a couple of weeks. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I called the company but I was placed on hold for 15 mins. I will call them back, but was hoping someone here with experience could help me.

This is a great site that I used a few months ago. It sounds like you have a slipping belt. Find a kid with a few tools and you should be in businesss. You might want to look around for that tube of grease they gave you to grease the rollers. It's probably in that big drawer where you put stuff like that..

yep sounds like the tread needs to be tightened some.
