Re: lottery winnings - how would you spend yours?

Like others, I would pay off my mortgage and the mortgage of some close friends and pay off all bills. Set up an account for the teens and their program at the parish so that they could go to yearly retreats and trips without the added stress of having to find the $.
Set up my cousin Nick who is blind with a college fund. I'd like to purchase 2 lg. passenger vans for the parish.
For myself, I would like to be able to drive through the States and see the beauty of this country. I have travelled to other countries, but never get out of Los Angeles to see the US.
Lord, my dream is to lose this weight and to be healthier.

Let my husband retire early, buy a bigger house, each of the kids a new car and help any relatives with money issues they might have. I'd also look some charities. Okay that was a nice dream, time to wake up now (LOL)!

Hey, if I won $100,000,000 in the lotto, and the IRS took away 30,000,000, I think I'd find a way to live on $70,000,000 without starving.

Re: lottery winnings - how would you spend yours?

Well first I'd pay off my debts and my parents debts. Then I'd give them each a lump sum, the same with my brother and sister. I'd buy myself one house in the UK and two in Florida (one to live in, one to rent out) and then I'd call my new boss and quit before using the rest of the money to fund my business, since my baby's been neglected the last month or so.

But I dont have any serious plans of anything. It's not like I've put any thought into it haha

Re: lottery winnings - how would you spend yours?

believe it or not, but I already have a list of the things I will do when I win the 298 million dollar lotto on a visit to the states!

I made the list so I wouldn't freak out and just blow my winnings!

I have on my list paying for the college educations of my son, my sisters kids and some friends kids.

I have a list of people I will give money to - anywhere from 10K to 2 million.

I plan to help animals and children.

The only things I really want for me - to buy back my grandparents summer house on Long Island. To buy a nice truck.

One thing I can add is to make "Butterfly Island" a reality with CJB.

Re: lottery winnings - how would you spend yours?

Oh gosh...everyone's wish, to win the lottery! My wish too, if only it would happen Here's what I'd do.

First we'd give money to each of our parents and siblings. Then, I'd probably move to Edmonton in Canada, which is where I want to live someday...and buy a nice house with some land. And a cool work out center in the basement!

I'd get a new car...I want a RAV4. Small SUV with the same milage as my Ford Escort! I like the silver RAV4 models.

New computer systems for hubby and I (we're Internet/LAN game nerds, it's how we met). A few more dogs, including another pug.

Travel with hubby to Germany, where I grew up (mostly). I miss that place a lot. Then travel to other places around the world.

Oh, and I'd get rid of the nasty spider veins on my legs

Re: lottery winnings - how would you spend yours?

Ah, I've thought about this one:

$1M to my friends, Johnna and Philip, to do the renovation they want on their house, or to spend as they choose.

$1M to Johnna and Philip's son for college, etc.

$1M to friends Dorota and Joel to start their new married life together!

$2M to Greg, because he is the best friend a girl could have.

$1M to Myra and John for all their help and for their fantastic kids.

$1M each to a literacy program, a women's shelter, and an animal shelter -- my most important charitable issues.

$1M to build the house of my dreams, which is considerably smaller that anything being built around me (McMansions galore!).

$1M to buy a home somewhere in Italy.

$500K to travel around the world for one year.

                    Hmmm, that's only $11.5M.

The rest would be invested to earn money for me, so I could follow my passions for the rest of my life instead of "working for the man"!!!! And I would continue to contribute to charities as well . . . if I had more money now, I would be doing it! Instead, they get my time!

a very respectable list, Stacy Sista- but I've always heard it takes $$$$ to make $$$$, so I'd invest first, make a lot more $$$$, then work on dreams & contributions....

Oh, and before presenting the winning ticket, I'd form a corporation to collect & invest the $$$$ under the name of, so I could "disappear" from the paveratsi (sp?), and those asking for $$$$.
