I keep a glass on my counter that I drink from all day and night. I get up a few times a night, let dogs out, check kids etc. Last night I get up and wander into kitchen for a sip and the cat was sitting on the counter drinking out of my glass. I cant help but imagine how many times she has done that. Do I always rinse it during the night? I am not sure. I looked on the floor and the pet bowl was full so its not like she did it because hers was empty

Laurenfa - some pets are cleaner than humans, so I wouldnt worry too much!! hehe!! If you start to meow thats the time to panic!!
My mums dog goes wild if I have a glass of water - I think he can smell it or something!! I've had countless glasses of water end up all over me from his attempts to drink out of the glass!!5ft 4 / female - age 36 start date - 20th March 2006 -restarted 8th August 2006 sw188/cw150/gw147

Re: Ewwwwwwwwww Gross
Had you posted this last week I probably would have agreed with Jane about why worry, but Thursday my daughter got bit by a wild kitten (meaning kitten being born to a cat that just roams the neighborhood) and I had to take her to the emergency room for it because they tell me cat's carry a bacteria in their saliva that makes 40 to 50% of bites get infected. Should you worry about the cat drinking out your glass, probably not, like you said could have been doing it forever. But who knew about cat bites, not me for sure, I have been raised as a dog person.

Ok, too funny. I wouldn't worry about it, being a dog and cat person myself. But it does kind of make you wonder....hmmm....how long has he been doing this....and where else is he getting his water from???Chasin2Kids

Re: Ewwwwwwwwww Gross
I was bitten by a dog (not mine) about a couple of months ago. At the emergency room, they were very concerned about infection, especially because I'm a diabetic.Originally posted by AtkidHad you posted this last week I probably would have agreed with Jane about why worry, but Thursday my daughter got bit by a wild kitten (meaning kitten being born to a cat that just roams the neighborhood) and I had to take her to the emergency room for it because they tell me cat's carry a bacteria in their saliva that makes 40 to 50% of bites get infected. Re: Ewwwwwwwwww Gross
Laurenfra...You made me flashback to being 14 years old and coming downstairs watching my sister (seven years older) sitting at the counter in her bathrobe eating a bowl of cereal with the cat sitting in front of her drinking the milk out of her bowl while she ate...ROFL...I hadn't teased her about that in years! Time to give her a call (ironically, now she is an intensive care unit nurse and is extremely cogniscent of bacteria and the like...lol)
