    Ok, I have so many things to say and ask that I am just starting my own conversation thread. If you have any comment, please feel free to post. Even criticism won't be despised.

    First thing I want to know is about rep points. I asked in some thread, but I have no idea where, so if someone answered, sorry, I missed it. How do I give rep points to others? What are they for?? How are they used??

    Hey so is this your journal? You should start one if it isn't! Heck, you should start a cooking journal, sort of an online cookbook...)

    As for "reps"--See that little scale in the upper right hand corner of my post? If you like what someone has to say, agree with their post, think they're a great person, etc., click on that scale and a box will pop up--this allows you to give someone a rep point...the more rep points you have, the better your reputation...by your rep power, people will assume that you're friendly, knowledgeable, you know your stuff. ALSO, the higher rep power you have, the more points you have...and the more points/rep power you have affect how another person's score will be affected if you rep them...

    Now, if someone is a TOSer, or a jerk, or doing something REALLY out of line, click on the yield sign and that's to report a bad post...sort of the opposite of a rep, I suppose.

      Oh wow Juli, thanks. Where do people learn all of this?

      I guess this could be a journal, but I like and want comments, so i would rather have it here than in the journal forum.

        Heck, check out my journal--it's ALL random comments! All the journals I hang out in are random. One day, the subject was bearded ladies...another day, it's Golden Girls. We have no idea whats going on in there, really...

        I figured it out rep points by accident...I like to click things, then say "oops." There should be a sticky about it somewhere...but I don't remember which forum?

              LOLOL WOW thanks from both of you!!! I am planning to publish a cookbook just for Wild Game, Berries and Herbs, but I wouldn't even know where to begin with another cookbook. There are too many great chefs out there with cookbooks these days. I should have done it years ago before the Food Network.
              I have been making Heirloom cookbooks for my kids with just my Holiday recipes in it. You cannot imagine how long that is. I thought it would be short and easy. I think it is going to end up being extremely long. Being Jewish and celebrating all of the other holidays too, I have a lot of holidays and recipes that are standards over the years. I have menus for 5 and menus for 200 and everything in between, because that is how it has been in my family. Maybe 200 show up, maybe it was just me and the kids.
              I just wish I had time off to work on this cookbook.

                Oh my goodness I am hungry today!! starved! Of course, I haven't had lunch, but I have only had lunch 2 days this week and thought I would burst open I was so full. Today I had a HUGE breakfast and was starving an hour later. I have had very little appetite until today, whats up with this?

                  It means your metabolism has been kickstarted probably. If you're hungry, eat! Isn't that fabulous that you're supposed to eat if you're hungry..

                  Somedays you will be ravenous. Others you'll forget to eat. Just listen to your body and you will be well.

                    Is that it?? Thanks Juli. I have had a big appetite all weekend, but since I work a lot on the weekends, I don't always get to eat when I need to or want to. Even though I am in catereing...strange huh? I am not starving today though. I hope that doesn't mean my metabolism slowed down again.

                      No--as long as you're feeding your body what it needs, you will do fine. It's like a car that needs gas. If it's on empty, of course you're going to fill the tank! If it's full, you don't have to...OK that was a pretty ridiculous comparison but I think you know what I'm getting at...

                      I have been STARVING today, which makes me happy...usually that means I'm going to drop some weight.

                        Oh my goodness...I hope that is what happens to me too!! I have had a very hard time getting to eat lately with finals and extra stuff going on and all the holiday parties to cater. I am probably hungry and don't know it. I didn't even get lunch or dinner today. All of this snow is taking a couple of extra hours a day too. Where is PizzaManNoMore? I thought he was moving in...I could make him shovel my snow and plow my driveway!!

                        I just had to move far away from my sweetie to go to school....

                          Ok, feels like I haven't been here in a while. Even at this moment I am only partly here. I am exhausted and spent. I only have three total classes left between this week and next. With most of next week off, I will not know what to do with all of my free time. I know I am gonna sleep for a couple of days, after that...who knows.

                          I have not had even the slightest desire to cheat with the month I was on Atkins in October/November and the first week back on this time, but...the last two days and all the incredible holiday food I have been offered, I admit the temptation is there. I haven't done it, but I sure have wanted to. A lot of it is probably due to being tired too.
                          Someone throw some holiday cheer and encouragement my way, at least until i get caught up on some sleep next week.
