  • Some people just don't get it...

OMG, I really need to vent. Just got off the phone with my cousin who is so negative about my new WOE. We were talking about bread and she was saying that when she was on Weight Watchers she had bread and how Pizza is this many points and chocolate is that many points and you could eat rice etc, etc, anyway I wanted to say is that why you only lost 1/4 pound in 3 months on WW and I lost 27 lbs in 2 months being on Atkins... and I work out 5x a week I mean is she for real I told her I choose to eat this way cause it works and you eat your way but she seemed to have an attitude about it so like i said, people just don't get it...

    thanks for letting me vent

I know. I had a roommate in college who did weight watchers. And boy did she ever watch her weight...just keep getting higher and higher. And she would eat practically nothing, push her plate back and say "oh I'm so FULLLLLLLLLL" and look longingly at the delicious food others were eating and enjoying. She couldn't believe I put away a steak and a salad while she had about .2873 oz of fish.

Yep, that's the right one to use on people we know and love who think otherwise of what we know is true because we live and read it. (okay, that's a bad run on sentence, but I hope you get the drift lol).

Best thing I see about that conversation, you got to put your 2cents about how WELL you've done over the past few months on Atkins Nice!

I'll bet she's a lot hungrier than you are, too!

sounds like she might just be a wee bit jealous of your success.

Some people really love WW but it's not for me. I tried it when I was in high school and I lost a few pounds initially, but let me tell you, I was STARVING. I couldn't do WW because I felt deprived and hungry.

Yeah, some people don't get it. But, thank goodness you do. Soon you'll be a walking example of what lowcarbing can do. She'll probably be asking you how you did it and how she can too. I've had many people question my WOE, and later come back to find out how to do it. Everyone has to do what is best for them, and for me, this has been the only thing that I've been able to stick to and get success. Vent, but don't let people frustrate you. We get it and you're doing great!!

Totally agree. After 6 weeks I was bored, only lost a few pounds and lost all motivation.
Well done on ur loss so far, 27lbs in 2 months is fantastic! Keep up the working out too and u'll have a hot bod in no time.
I know some people who have had success on WW but it wasnt for me. I think its wrong to make 'diet junk food', its junk food that gets people fat in the first place! Making 'diet' just reduces calories and fat, its still crammed full of additives and preservatives and chemicals. Hopefully ur friend might come around to ur WOE and you can show her how its done!
