Someone was asking about have a Guide Dog for the Blind blessed, which prompted this comment:
My wife has just qualified with her sixth dog. She's never had any of them blessed at qualification but each one has expected, nay almost demanded, a blessing each Sunday at the communion rail. I always have to tip off visiting priests or they're likely to get teeth marks in the chasuble if they attempt to pass by without giving the expected blessing.
Chasuble = priest's outer robe
