  • Eddie Izzard?

I have discovered the most hilarious man on earth! His name is Eddie Izzard and he is a comedian from England. I have never liked British comedy but he is soo funny! Has anyone else heard of him or know of his work? I was surprised that such an amazing Comedian isn't more well known but apparently he works hard at staying under the radar. Also, he is a transvestite. As he puts it, he is an "Executive transvestite, a transvestite of action!" He does this whole thing about it in one of his shows and I couldn't stop laughing! Anyways if you want to check him out you can go to youtube.com and put in Eddie Izzard. Some of his funniest stuff is on there.

I caught on to him about 2 years back, but I haven't watched anything lately. He is hilarious and I love him, but lately it's hard to activate my funny bone =P.

No offence, but I love the way you say you have "just discovered" him. He's not that big in the UK anymore, I guess he is doing a US tour.

I'm glad you have found some of our humour that you like.

          Re: Eddie Izzard?

Aww.. It makes me sad to hear that he isn't that big in the UK anymore. He is a friend of mine on Myspace and i've read that he has shifted his focus from comedy to acting. He was in The Cats Meow, Oceans 12, and most recently My Super Ex-Girlfriend. I saw him in Oceans 12 and was really surprised. He only had a small role but he was great and really, really funny! Also, in The Cats Meow, he plays Charlie Chaplin and I was truly blown away.. I had no idea he had such a range! Sadly, he isn't touring and hasn't toured since his last show, Sexie, in 2003, which in my opinion wasn't really funny. The tour sold out in all the countries he went to but the DVD isn't really that great.. So I think that the flack he got from that is one of the reasons he hasn't been doing too much comedy lately. I really wish he would though, I wanna see him live in action.

I've heard him on XM before and thought he was pretty funny. But since it's radio, I had no idea he is a transvestite.

              Eddie Izzard is hilarious.
He is HUGE in the UK, all his tours are sell out and his DVD's are no. 1's.
He doesn't do as many tv appearances as he used to cos he's doing lots of tours and film work now.

                Re: Eddie Izzard?

I used to absolutely ADORE Eddie Izzard in around 2000 - in my 6th form you couldn't move for people saying 'cake or death?' etc. But I went to Sexie and was a bit disappointed glad to hear he's doing well in the US.

If you like him you'd probably like Billy Connelly - like an earlier, gruff Scottish version.
