Last week I cleaned out my shoe closet. These leather boots I had not worn for years (very uncomfy, they look like straight cylinders from the foot to the knee, no curves

My hubby said that old shoes/especially old boots contain a lot of bacterias, maybe fungus
. They are gross stuff and belong in the garbage and NOT in the donation bag. I´m not sure
. I know "one womans trash, is another womans treasure" but I don´t want to make extra work for people who are voluteering their time. So my question is:
Donation bag or are these uncomfy old boots just plain gross trash which belong in the regular garbage bag together with other non-recycable litter like dirt, tissues, food scraps...?
