I love Nicholas Cage movies in general, but Lord of War was even better than the typical love I feel for his movies.

Ok ... not listing movies yet, but I will soon ... I had a question regarding Netflix. I've thought about signing up with them and Blockbuster has also come out with a similar program. I'm wondering how long do you wait for new releases with the mail out services like these ? Are you finding that it is cheaper to rent this way or about the same ?
I do have PPV on the Dish and when the weather has been bad or I just refuse to dress and go out I'll end up renting through there and it's about the same price as renting at the store ...
Opinions on Netflix / Blockbuster ?

We did Netflix for a while but cancelled it a few months ago. Speedwise they really are fast, like 2 to 3 days when they get your old movie back, but I had a hard time finding the movies that I wanted and found it to be annoying. I guess I just prefer a store where I can see all the new releases together alphabetically.

Hey there girl with the best chile in your state in the entire world!!!!!!
I have a love hate with Netflix I hate looking for movies on the site it is distracting and leads me off on stupid paths to crap I really do not care about or want to see...but it does have a huge selection ...and....the reason I posted this thread was to just get people to tell me what to put into the queue .....I dont watch any TV at all ...I listen to NPR if I want news but even that gets me too depressed...I have only basic cable and absolutely no time to go and browse in the stores because there is not one between me an my work it is totally inconvieniant for me and in my off time (rare right now) I just want to have some kind of fun!!! ...so really for the $20/month I get about 6 movies a week to watch and that works well for me ....plus if I want to see a series like 6 Feet Under I can just rent it and have a binge of it and not have to wait a week to see what happens next....hope this helps

Ok, here are two foreing films that I enjoyed quite a bit. They're kind of comedy/dramas so not as exciting, but very good. Get the subtitled ones.

Amelie -

Amélie tries to enrich the lives of those around her by weaving her special brand of mischievous magic. She befriends a neighbor who's a shut-in, plays pranks on another neighbor, steals a garden gnome and returns objects she collects to their rightful owners. Condoms are Funny in Any Language
"The Closet" is a farce about luckless Francois Pignon (Daniel Auteuil), a pale accountant at a condom factory whose wife has left him, whose son is bored by him, and whose coworkers make jokes at his expense. When Francois learns that he is about to lose his job, he contrives a plan: anonymously, he sends doctored pictures of himself living it up in a gay bar to the company. His bosses are worried about a lawsuit, and Pignon gets to keep his job. Then, of course, his plan spins out of control. Auteil, a French Robert DeNiro with an unrivaled deadpan, is excellent, and Gerard Depardieu hams it up in the role of Pignon's homophobic rugby coach.

Not sure if you like stand up comedy Heidi, but on the weekend a friend lent us: Russel Peters, Outsourced. This guy is the funnies comedian onthe planet IMO. My husband hates stand up comedy usually and he can't get enough of him.
