    Re: Top Chef

I think they keep Marcel on because it creates drama. Betty annoyed the crap out of me. I'm glad Bottabing Betty and her lumpy soups are gone.

I hope Sam wins. I have a feeling it's going to be between Sam and Cliff, although, I'm almost wondering if they'll keep Marcel on down to the end just because of the friction it causes.

I felt bad for Michael. He did so great with the last episode winning both challenges, and then he bombed this episode. He's so funny. He reminds me of so many line cooks that worked for my family's restaurant.

I can see the show playing out the way you outlined. I'm glad Betty is gone as well...it seemed as though the group itself wasn't able to recognize her passive/aggressive behavior and how she instigated fights with Marcel. He seemed much more mature than Betty, in how he dealt with her attacks. I cannot understand why everyone was so cuddly with her...anyhow,

I think that if it doesn't play out the way you stated, that it will only be because Elia has replace Marcel and it will come down to Cliff, Sam, and Elia...

Mike was too cute...his personality was like a person I worked with at my last job...I can understand why the judges thought he wasn't "heartfelt"...based on the inflection in his voice and how he responded to their questioning...if they haven't encountered a person such as him yet, but it appeared that his demeanor had more to do with reacting to his nervousness, than lack of caring. I am surprised that he made it that far though, especially after the cheeto in the candy bar routine...lol.

Great show - one of the best on tv right now by far - I love how competitive it is....

I was for Ilan for a while but he got on mynerves when he started acting like a baby when he was fighting with Marcel.

Sam is good but he rubbed me the wrong way when they had the challenge that he lost and he hinted to the judges that someone was cheating but when they asked he said he wouldn't ever tell on someone - like they werent going to ask more after he made his comments about it and all.

Kinda hope Elia gets it or maybe even Marcel just to piss the rest of them off.....

I think maybe Ilan is going to get asked to leave tonight...Have you seen the commercials for tonights show? Someone is going to be sent home for bad behavior.

I KNOW! Very interesting...I hope it's Ilan as well, he's been very imature...almost as though he's forgotten that being on such a competition is a privelege, not a right to be there...and that you are being judged not only on your cooking, but also your ability to act like an adult.

He seems stressed, like the pressure of being away from home and being in such a competitive situation is getting to him.

Ugh! I'm so dissapointed in myself. I promised I'd never talk about people on TV as though they were people I knew personally. lol

                Re: Top Chef

I think Ilan will be leaving...his temper has really gotten crazy these last couple episodes! I liked him (and also thought he was quite cute) but now he seems to be quite volatile and somewhat of a brat.

I hope Sam or Elia wins...so far, it seems that Elia is the most straightforward and mature of the group. Cliff has issues with being bossy, Marcel is a tool--but I agree, they'll be keeping him on for the "drama" aspect. Or maybe they really will have a challenge where a dish needs foam.

I'm wondering what happens in the new episode...if they get in a fight, or shave somebody's head or what...because there was a line like "I think you should see them" or something. Maybe they had a sharpie party and drew naughty bits on Marcel's face.

OMG, Julie, the sharpie naughty bits thing almost made me spray water across the room. My ex boyfriend and his friends had a rule that whoever passed out first got a sharpie makeover. I was sure never to drink around those boys.

As far as the commercial goes....I guess they probably want us to think Ilan is leaving. You know how thru clever editing they make us think something is happening with one person, when really it's someone else.

RIIIIGHT! They did that on project runway commercials...drove me batty. I wonder if someones head got shaved, just because Tim and I were watching another program, that had a Top Chef commercial that was recorded on the DVR and he accidentally slowed it down on the commercial and it showed a brief moment of the contestants passing in front of the judges and one of them appeared to be wearing some sort of white head band, like tennis players wear. OH HECK! I dunno, we'll see in 3 hours I suppose.

Well...I guessed part of it, do I win a prize?

I can't believe it was Cliff...I really liked Cliff...it's too bad. I think it really spoke to his character that he didn't blame Marcel and that he wished EVERYONE the best and didn't badmouth anybody.

I couldn't flipping believe Cliff was sent home. That totally shocked me. I love that Elia shaved her head. How funny is she? Did you notice that in the commercials for the next episode her and Ilan have hair again? I wonder how long it was in between the episodes.

I guess Cliff would have gone home either way. Oh well. You know he's going to be successful whatever he does.

Sh*t happens when you get wasted. I did feel bad for Marcel. Sure, he's an annoying little pansy, but he didn't deserve to be humliated like that.

He reminds me of some cartoon character I've seen....Hmmmm....

But I never found him to be an annoying little pansy...I believe that Betty set a precedent of everyone treating him badly, which escalated after her leaving...and Marcel is simply reacting to how he is being treated...he handles it rather well I think, considering how long he's been removed from his family and friends...it can be psychologically very difficult being away from those you love and living in a hostile, competitive environment. He's confident, and a bit of a know it all, but that is no reason to hate the little guy so much. I bet you if he were physically more handsome...that he would be treated differently.

You can't tell me he'd be getting treated badly if he looked like this:
