    Re: LadyHawkes Valley

Thanks everyone. It really is beautiful in my valley. When we get alot of rain we have small waterfalls scattered around the mountians - that is always neat to watch.
A global meeting would be awesome wouldn't it! Does anyone else have pictures to share!?

I will try to post pictures of the snow...we are getting a lot of it here in Colorado. I am not the greatest with technology...but be watching for them okay? That valley looks magical!

It is very cold here! But we live here for a reason...the seasons are very distinct here, although we have had fairly mild winters the past few years. I haven't experienced this cold a Decemebr for a long time...and I am a native Coloradan! Hope you're enjoyng the good Atkins life!

Nice!! Your views look similar to where I'll be next year down in West Virginia...lots of mountains on nearly every side...gorgeous. Makes you feel "cradled" somehow. In the meantime I'm by the ocean now hiding in my Q-Cave. Here's a pic from a few years back showing the Wall Of Woe. This thing nearly killed me...it'a almost 200 feet long and about 15 feet high. Had to fence above it when I got done so my little one wouldn't wander near the edge.

I went for trees this house...oaks and maples and huge. My favorite time of the year is spring here. Winter isn't as good because the evergreens I planted aren't high enough yet to keep me from being able to see a neighbor, but another 10 years will do it...lol.

I envy you your valleys though!

I actually do not live in a valley ..I live on the very top of a hill looking down at the Puget Sound ..that view is the entire North, west and South sides of the house..the east side has a 100 year old log cabin nestled in the woods ..I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere and 10 min from I-5!!! it is really nice here ..quiet except the odd train passing or the sea lions barking ......supposed to be a temperate climate..and today more snow!!! I can not believe it!!! this is the most snow I have seen here in 20 years!!!.......Q I love your house that is spectacular!!! that wall does look like work!!! omg!!!! one thing about living here is we do not have the fall colors I loved so much on the east coast growing up...I live in the Evergreen state!!! and it is really ever green!

I love seeing pics of where everyone lives thanks for starting this thread!

It's been a weird year...we haven't even had a TRACE of snow and it's mid January.

I do like this house...a lot. First time I ever got to design one, hopefully not the last. It's a ton of work but a lot of fun at the same time if that makes sense? I hate leaving but business is business...sigh. There's some interior shots here on the MLS listing. Finally got all the window treatments done and I need to move...there's no justice. Don't faint at the taxes amount...price of living near the ocean around here.

See, that's the nice thing about cooking...it doesn't break your heart..lol. My favorite part of the house is the attached back porch/deck. I can grill all year long and it allows me to indulge my thunder storm watching passion without getting wet. Nothing beats those 3 a.m. shows from Mother Nature. Makes fireworks look like popgun toys.
