    Tell me about your best holiday / vacation!

    What has been your favourite / best holiday / vacation that you have ever been on. Or had. I want to know everything.

    When was it, where was it, how long for, why was it so special.

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

    Oh god how do you choose a best holiday - its soo hard!!! mine is a toss up between a cruise to hawaii and a fly-drive to california!!! (how naughty of me not to put my honeymoon to Jamaica in the top two!!! lol)

    Ok I choose California!!!

    The fly drive around california and across to Las Vegas was one of those holidays where you laugh from start to finish - it was superb!! we did it the year after we got married, so 2000!! The holiday was for 15 nights. We went with our best friends and hired a car and just drove!! we went everywhere! the most funniest night was sleeping in a tent in Yosemite park!!! All the hotels were fully booked and it was all they had left! We had to get drunk just so we forgot about the roaming bears!!! lol

    I'd advise anyone to do that sort of holiday!!

    It was soo special for us as soon after we got back our friends moved to Princeton NJ for a couple of years so we didnt see them that often!! but we did visit Princeton rather alot as we missed them soo much!! I probably know Princeton just as well as the locals !! lol

    this year we're going away with the same best friends, they've move back to England, but now they have two little boys, so we're doing a beach holiday in Majorca, Spain with them.

      Mine would have to be Florida. I went last year at the end of Sept for 2 weeks. I went with my BF and his family, 11 of us and a baby altogether.
      I've never been to the States before and it was such an eye opener. The weather was in high 30's nearly every day and there was so much to do and see and be amazed at. My BF and I had hired our own car so we could go off and do our own thing.

      I cant wait to go again!

        Hrmmm...my favorite vacation would have to be when my boyfriend and I flew to Las Vegas and spent 5 days there. He was a panel member at this broadcasting conference, so for him it was more work than play, but darn it, I'm counting it as a vacation.

        It was so special because it was the first trip we took where we didn't go visit family members...it was also the first time I've ever flown! It almost felt like a honeymoon, the two of us drinking margaritas all the way down the Strip, gambling, listening to live music, people watching, eating delicious food, swimming in the pool, and doing all sorts of wonderful couples-only things.

        We've also taken a few road-trip vacations back when we lived in Michigan. We'd drive out to Wyoming to visit my parents at their cabin, spend days in Yellowstone, drive up to Montana, over to Idaho. Sometimes we'd also go to South Dakota or North Dakota. Tent-camping all the way, packing lunches, staring up at the stars...just the two of us. Those were fun, too!

          Ok here it is ..this could NOT have been more perfect...

          it was our 20th year of being married....I had 2 weeks off....my best friend gave me the keys to her house on the Big Island of Hawaii ..........my son worked for the airlines ..so we flew free .....had the entire row of seats on a 747 ...the flight attendent left us completely alone ....we had huge blankets pillows and lots of picnic foods and drinks ....and ...we joined the club ...when we arrived at the house...there was a gecko on the wall to greet us ....a list of "must dos and see" and "where to go"s highlighted maps to non touristy stuff.. ..she filled the place with great wine ...good champagne.....all kinds of local appetizers to snack on along with fresh flowers on the table (she arranged this all though her daughter in law) ...
          trip/weather/food/ water/people/ scenery / everything absolutely perfect

          every single day I tried a new fish .. grilled sashimi ..daily for breakfast it was amazing ....

          my last two days there we spent trimming trees in her yard ...sweeping the crap off her roof powerwashed her house ...and generally sprucing the yard up ....she was beyond grateful (she worked in Seattle and the person who had done her yardwork moved) ..we were beyond grateful ..we would have been happy in a tent in Hawaii!!! it was so win win!!!!

          Helll make me fly to Hawaii to garden...anyday

          I made guava jam from guavas I picked on the roadside....my husband still teases me about all the cooking I did that trip!!!

          WE SO NEED A FREAKING VACATION RIGHT NOW
