I go to a comedy website (www.zug.com) The guy there does a lot of pranks and it really makes me laugh sometimes. So recently his first book came out which is basically a collection of his pranks. One particular one I thought was a great idea and wanted to share.
The author hates junk mail and wanted a way to make it unprofitable for junk mail companies to exist. A lot of junk mail comes with prepaid envelopes (especially ones from credit card companies) so you can send your application or whatever back in for free. Well it turns out that if those prepaid envelopes are used, then the company sending the junk mail must pay the postage regardless of what is actually inside the envelope (as long as it's something that can be mailed in an envelope). The author decided to send the prepaid envelopes back but make them as expensive as possible. He started out mailing back one back which contained a few links of steel chain. That worked so he figured out the heaviest thing he could cheaply get, which would cost the junk mail company the most money, and came up with sheets of lead --lol-- and mailed that back too.
Now of course most people wouldn't mail back extra heavy stuff that way but I was thinking if everyone just put a slip of paper in there saying something like "NO THANKS" or "REJECTED" or "SCREW OFF PLEASE" then not only would the company have to pay the extra postage but also the time for someone to sort and open and toss the garbage. To me it's sort of poetic really, sending the junk mailers some junk mail.
