I picked cruise because they offer gambling like Vegas, vice like Miami, and a puuurfect escape from the ordinary.

Las vegas and the 3 day cruise both sound good to me, but i know i can't get enough days off from work to go on the cruise.

Ok, hubby is being all realistic now and saying "uh......honey where do we come up with the money for a trip? ANd uh.... we have a baby that will absolutely fall apart without you, and do you know these people? What if this Brady guy is an axe murderer?" LMAO! I almost peed my pants at that one!

Anyways, anywhere in the states will require me having a pass port, so it doesn't matter if it is close or far, the cost and procedures will probably be pretty similar. Driving to Detroit would be the best for me finacially, but heck, CJB only gets married once! Or at least the plumber hopes so! LOL I'll have to do some pretty hard work convincing the DH unless he is coming along. He really wouldn't be comfortable with me being outta sight for that ong, not controlling just a worry wart. I'd really love to go tho'! Sounds like a blast!

Juli...I'm not sure who picked Detroit...and I've never been there, but...

Perhaps they are just a big Dan Aykroyd fan...and loved his Doctor Detroit movie in 1983.

Rottentomatoes.com, however didn't seem to give it very good reviews...but I'm sure it's no reflection on the lovely city!

I was actually the person who suggested Detroit, simply because of the cheap stay for people like myself who can't afford to spend all the money for the other extravagant ideas, and because of the casinos and the fact that windsor is only 15 minutes away. Yes, of course I have been there, as I live in Ohio which is not that far, didn't think people would get their panties in a bunch. Feel free to take it off the poll since so many people seem to be losing their minds at the thought.

Detriot is a fine city, my Grandparents lived there for thirty years, my Uncle still lives in Bloomfield. I have been there many times, I for one have never been to Vegas. I have been on a cheap cruise once so be careful who we choose if we do decide to cruise.

Love, I'm not like, *angry*, I am just super confused. I have never considered Detroit a vacation destination.

I have spent the day shopping there, or performing there, and that's it. Oh wait, I've stayed at the Weston (in the Ren Cen) a few times. I have relatives and friends who live in the area (Royal Oak, Warren, Romeo, Oakland) and I've been there too many times to count.

My reasoning for it *NOT* being Detroit is that it's not really hip to wander around drunk there at night for various reasons.

Whereas in Vegas, it's highly encouraged, and very cheap flights are offered! It's cheaper for me to fly to Vegas than it is for me to fly home to MI.
