I originally posted this in my journal, but decided to also post it here as it can be thought of as a Public Service Annoucement!!! I'm beginning to think that this is a National Threat to the waistlines of all Americans!!!
Begin rant...
So, normally I don't mind the Girl Scouts...gives something positive for young minds to do, helps develop a good sense of self, etc. HOWEVER, I was accosted, TWICE, at the grocery store yesterday and it was NOT pleasant!!!
The first GAGGLE of giggling girl scouts flocked to me within 10 paces of walking into the store. I politely told them that I was on a diet and couldn't eat their cookies. This group seemed ok with that excuse which made me wonder if my butt looked too big in the pants I was wearing. LOL
The second GAGGLE of giggling girl scouts came at me as soon as I pushed my cart away from the checkout line. I again told them my excuse for not buying any. This time, some of them started to cry and those that didn't, had that quivering lip thing going on. UGH!!! I, however, did NOT give in to such theatrics!!! I'm thinking that this batch tries their darnest to get everyone to buy and that they have a special GS badge for dramatic acting!
I'm now considering shopping at the night....like pass the bedtime of said girl scouts. They are certainly worse than the sample ladies on the weekends!!!
Ok, end rant.
So what do you think? Innocent girls trying to raise money, or wolf in sheeps' clothing, out on the prowl of unsuspecting shoppers, willing to give in at the sign of a tear?
