Have you ever had to walk up to a stranger's house out in the boonies to use their phone?

Well, it wasn't in the boonies, but when you live in Detroit, walking up to any strange house is scary. When I was 17 and had my first car, it broke down several miles from home. I was in an unfamiliar residential area, and didn't know how far it would be to a pay phone, and since it was after dark, I didn't feel safe walking by myself. Of course, I had no cell. I walked up to a house, and stood on the porch a few minutes praying that whoever was inside wouldn't kill me. A nice woman, who was probably more afraid of me, than I was of her, let me use her phone. Mom came and got me and we called a tow truck.

Have you ever gone on a date with someone you weren't interested in just because you didn't want to hurt their feelings?

i drove a cotton picker 37 hours non stop to beat a big storm front that was moving in. it was in 1996 or 1997
