How do you make your bed?

My brother and I have had a friendly argument about this for the longest time and I decided to get your opinions!



Ok... printed sheets...

He says when you put the top sheet on, the print side faces up.

I say that the print side should face down - the print sides of the fitted sheet and the top sheet should be together. That way when you turn back the covers you see the pretty side of the sheet. If it's facing up, no one will ever see it since it's against the blankets.


What do you guys think?

(He thinks I obsess about this. He's even threatened to sneak into my house and turn my sheet the WRONG way! LOL !)

hmmm, I can honestly say I've never thought about this. I don't think I've ever seen a printed sheet! Sheltered life...

I used to be a chambermaid so have a weird pleasure in bedmaking - I can see why you'd want to get it right

When mine even gets made..... the printed side is up. I dont fold back the covers when the bed is made. but.... I dont use topsheets. they annoy the heck out of me as I dont like my feet trapped in bed.

I know you're supposed to put the print side DOWN, so when you fold the covers back, you see the print as it's intended. My boyfriend and I usually make the bed this way in the winter, as we have blankets that are folded down, etc.

In the summer, we put the print side up, as we don't use heavy blankets or comforters or anything.

But in general, we never actually "make the bed"...so really this post should be titled "how do you put sheets on?"

Dream, my grandma made the bed the way you described, and I guess that's probably the correct way to do it. I don't fold the blankets down for anyone to see, so the sheet goes on however it goes on. I only make the bed if someone is coming over to my house for the first time and I'm planning on giving them a tour. Otherwise, I am not a bed maker.

Speaking of Borat, my BF got a free Borat swimming costume (the line green one) when he bought the DVD. Yikes! One of our friends put it on...but thankfully over his clothes

OMG i would love to get my husband one of those swimsuits as a joke!

As far as the sheets go, i would do the print side down, and then fold it over the blanket, that is how my mom used to do it.

well..that is how i would do it IF i bothered to properly make the bed .
