What happened at Virginia Tech is a tragedy, a heartbreaking, soul-wrenching, mind- boggling tragedy!
What those families are going through, what the Virginia Tech community has to go through is almost more than I can bear to think about.
In October of 2002 a gunman came into my place of employment and viscously and cowardly shot down three College of Nursing instructors, one in her office and the other two in front of a room full of students. I remember hearing the screams of the students running out of the classroom, I remember being barricaded in our locked offices, I remember seeing the SWAT outside the building and wondering how this could happen!! Everything has come flashing back as I sit here typing this with tears streaming down my face.
So please, pray for all those who have suffered loss. Not just from Monday’s massacre, but for every heart that has been broken because someone was taken out of their life needlessly.
And remember to tell those you love how much you love them on a daily basis. You never know what awaits them outside your loving arms.
